Localism, Inc. has joined CollectiveX—and we’re inviting more Texas small businesses to join us.

We are excited to introduce CollectiveX, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit network that brings small businesses and nonprofit organizations together to create the opportunity to access competitively priced large-group health insurance options. By combining the purchasing power of participating employers, CollectiveX is helping smaller organizations access benefits traditionally available only to larger companies starting with healthcare options from several carriers; including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and related options.

Membership is free with no obligation to select a healthcare plan. Members can view the illustrative published group rates and sign up for an information session to learn more.

Localism proudly participated in the Hispanic Lobbyists Association meeting during the Mexican American Legislative Caucus Summit—an incredible gathering of some of the most experienced, respected, and committed leaders working to advance the interests of Texas communities.

At Localism and the Better Futures Institute, we believe meaningful progress is built through collaboration. Last week, we were proud to represent San Antonio and South Texas in Monterrey to strengthen our binational relationships and foster cross-border cooperation that drives strategic economic growth and shared innovation.

Throughout our visit, we engaged in forward thinking conversations with key leaders across government, academia, and policy, including meetings with el Diputado Cesar Augusto Rendón García, the Honorable Miguel Treviño, former Mayor of San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, and Director of the Escuela de Gobierno y Transformación Pública at el Tecnológico de Monterrey, and Dr. Eugenio Jose Reyes de Guzman at the World Trade Centers Association at la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). We also had the pleasure of collaborating with Guillermo "Memo" Garza Martinez, Chief Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Officer, at Arca Continental, several staff at CAINTRA Nuevo León, an industrial business association, and the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico, Noreste.

Building these strong binational ties is essential to advancing long term policy solutions, supporting local businesses, and expanding economic opportunities for both of our regions.

We are deeply grateful to our partners in Monterrey for welcoming us and laying the groundwork for continued, impactful collaboration between San Antonio and Northern Mexico.

Pride Month is a vital reminder of why visibility and equity matter. That is why we partner with the San Antonio LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce to drive regional growth. Last week, we were honored to celebrate at their Annual Pride Luncheon, where we presented local restaurants with Grubhub Community Impact Grants and our CEO moderated a powerful panel on community inclusivity and equity.

From preserving rich traditions locally to navigating international relations globally, strengthening identity creates opportunity. Because at the end of the day, everything is local.

What an extraordinary and humbling evening for Localism as our Founder & CEO joined Grammy award winning Campanas de America in performance during the inaugural Serenata Gala honoring the remarkable legacy and life’s work of Belle Ortiz.

Belle Ortiz forever changed the cultural and educational landscape of our country through her visionary advocacy for mariachi education in public schools beginning in the 1970s. Because of her tireless dedication and unwavering belief in the power of culture, music, and identity, there are now more than 250 mariachi education programs across the United States, as well as international mariachi competitions celebrated throughout the Americas. Her impact transcends music — it has empowered generations of young people to embrace their heritage with pride and purpose.

We are deeply grateful to have been included in such a historic and heartfelt evening recognizing one of the most influential cultural leaders of our time. At Localism, we believe that preserving and elevating cultural traditions is essential to strengthening communities, identity, and opportunity for future generations.

We look forward to continued collaboration with Campanas de America and leaders across the mariachi community to help sustain and expand Belle Ortiz’s extraordinary legacy for generations to come.
