A lot of businesses think they have a great culture because nobody is complaining.
That is not always a great culture, it might just be a quiet one.
Conflict avoidance gets mistaken for harmony all the time. But silence is not the same as satisfaction, and we've seen what happens when businesses confuse the two.
Here are the questions worth asking:
π Do problems actually get resolved β or do they just fade away until someone quits?
π When you host a voluntary company event, how many people actually show up?
π₯ Do your team members have genuine relationships outside of work hours?
π’ Does your team have to band together just to be heard by leadership?
A healthy culture isn't one where nothing ever goes wrong. It is one where people feel safe enough to say so when it does.
If these questions are making you uncomfortable, that is probably useful information.
