(1)

Partnering with Sipley the Best for your HR needs is a more efficient way to hire quickly, legally, and intentionally. Our mission is to be your guiding star in the vast ocean of employment decisions, offering clarity, innovative tools, and a touch of purpose. Together, let's create a workplace experience that makes waves of happiness in our society. Dawn Sipley, President of Sipley the Best, has

nearly 20 years in HR, 9 of those in business ownership of a staffing company, and is most familiar with the hiring process. She has supported hundreds of companies in Central Florida with their hiring needs either as a corporate recruiter, staffing company, or consultant, helping hundreds of companies negotiate millions of dollars of salaries. It was during those years in staffing that the concept of Sipley The Best was born. Staffing agencies can be expensive and most of them don't understand the operations, nature, or culture of your company because they are never at your company. Sipley the Best is an onsite, involved, and embedded HR service that truly understands your key players and pain points, not just a resume source from afar. At Sipley the Best, we hire happy humans for healthy companies!

A lot of businesses think they have a great culture because nobody is complaining.

That is not always a great culture, it might just be a quiet one.

Conflict avoidance gets mistaken for harmony all the time. But silence is not the same as satisfaction, and we've seen what happens when businesses confuse the two.

Here are the questions worth asking:

πŸ” Do problems actually get resolved β€” or do they just fade away until someone quits?

πŸŽ‰ When you host a voluntary company event, how many people actually show up?

πŸ‘₯ Do your team members have genuine relationships outside of work hours?

πŸ“’ Does your team have to band together just to be heard by leadership?

A healthy culture isn't one where nothing ever goes wrong. It is one where people feel safe enough to say so when it does.

If these questions are making you uncomfortable, that is probably useful information.

πŸ’¬ What's one sign of a genuinely healthy workplace culture in your experience? Share it below.

There is nothing more expensive than a toxic high performer... and Sipley the Best has seen it play out in businesses of every size.

The owner knows there is a problem. The team feels the problem day in and day out. But because this person is hitting their numbers out of the park, or has been around long enough to seem indispensable, the exceptions keep coming. πŸ™„

What happens every single time that person finally leaves?

The rest of the team doesn't fall apart. They exhale.

Morale improves, and collaboration starts thriving again. Management gets hours back that were being poured into damage control. To everyone's surprise, the business doesn't skip a beat.

That toxic employee wasn't holding the business together. They were holding it hostage!

When you keep making exceptions for toxic behavior in the name of performance, you are sending a message to every other person on your team: their comfort and their integrity matter less than one person's output.

The ones with options will eventually use them, and you may lose some of your best employees.

⚠️ If you know this person is on your team right now, that's worth a conversation. Send us a DM or give us a call – we'll help you figure out your best options, together.

Leadership transitions are one of the most critical – and often most mishandled – moments in the life of a business.

Doing it poorly is very hard to undo.

Whether you are promoting from within, bringing someone new in, or navigating an unexpected exit, how you handle the transition sets the tone for everything that follows.

The team is watching. They're forming opinions about whether leadership can be trusted to guide them through change.

Get it right and you build lasting trust.

Get it wrong and you spend the next 6-12 months in damage control.

Sipley the Best steps in during leadership transitions to help businesses communicate changes with intention, get team buy-in, and make sure the structural and legal pieces are handled correctly from day one.

People don't resist change as much as they resist being surprised by it.

If you are navigating a leadership transition right now (or you can see one on the horizon) do not wait until it gets messy.

πŸ“© It is a lot easier to do it right the first time. Message or call us today.

Most businesses do not have an onboarding problem. They have a lack of onboarding entirely.

Someone gets hired, a start date gets set, and then... silence. πŸ¦— No contact. No check-in.

Then ownership is surprised when the new hire doesn't show up on Monday.

Here is what Sipley the Best recommends at every stage:

πŸ“‹ Before day one – Reach out midway through the gap between offer and start date. Then again the day before. Confirm the details, express excitement, and make them feel wanted. That five-minute message could be the difference between a show and a no-show.

🀝 Week one – Take them to lunch. Build the relationship early. Do not wait for problems to start paying attention.

πŸ“Š Month one – Check in on activity, not just results. If they are doing the right things consistently, the results will follow.

πŸ“… Year two to three – This is the mark most businesses miss entirely. If you have not shown someone a real path forward by now, they are already looking for one somewhere else.

Onboarding is not paperwork and a parking pass. It is the foundation of every employment relationship you will ever have.

A business owner came to us frustrated and confused.

Between good pay and steady work, there was just no obvious reason people should be leaving.
..but they kept leaving anyway.

The owner thought they had a retention problem, but that wasn't the real issue.

They had a management problem sitting right in the middle of their org chart.

Most managers were never trained to manage. They were just the best at their job, and then one day someone handed them a team. When that person lacks the tools or the emotional maturity to lead well, the people beneath them don't always speak up. They just quietly start looking for the door.

Once we identified the real source of the problem and addressed it at the management level, the revolving door stopped.

If your turnover feels like a mystery, it probably isn't. It might just be hiding behind the wrong diagnosis.

πŸ’¬ Have you ever discovered your people problem was actually a leadership problem? We would love to hear it in the comments.

Most business owners don't contact us when the problem starts. They reach out when they are exhausted.

When they have had the same conversation for the sixth time this quarter. When they know they need to let someone go but keep finding reasons to wait. When their best people are burning out and they can see it happening. When they are lying awake at midnight running through employee scenarios instead of sleeping.

Sound familiar?

Here are the most common HR headaches Sipley the Best helps businesses solve:

πŸ”΄ The termination you know needs to happen but keeps getting delayed
πŸ”΄ A team that says they are overwhelmed but nobody knows why
πŸ”΄ The same conflict resurfacing every few weeks with no real resolution
πŸ”΄ Processes that made sense years ago and are now creating more problems than they solve
πŸ”΄ An owner so emotionally drained by their team that there is nothing left for the business

If any of these have been sitting on your plate for more than ninety days, we hate to tell you but they are not going to resolve themselves.

πŸ“© Sipley the Best is here to take the hot potato. Send us a DM or give us a call today.
