🎃🔎 CASE CLOSED… or is it? 🔎🎃
A HUGE thank-you to everyone who joined us for Something Wicked This Way Comes at Business Connections!
You came ready to network, investigate, debate, follow the clues—and put those detective skills to work! 🕵️♀️
There were suspects.
There were clues.
There were theories.
There were some VERY confident accusations. 😈
And, eventually… there was an answer.
But first, let's talk about our special guest… the Grim Reaper! 💀
What nobody knew was that the Grim Reaper was none other than Tricia, who was quietly making the rounds during the investigation, handing out Grim Reaper Affirmation Cards. Because apparently, even while investigating a murder, we all need a little encouragement! 😂
As the investigation unfolded, the list narrowed to just four suspects. Six investigation teams worked through the evidence, but only TWO teams correctly identified the killer.
And the culprit was… Pamela Lynch McMenemy, The Gatekeeper!
So, what was behind it all?
It came down to the disagreement between Pamela and Tricia over ProjectLaunchpad. Pamela wanted time to fix the situation, so she came up with a plan to make sure Tricia wouldn't show up the following morning.
Her weapon of choice? Chamberbane™ — a highly questionable concoction made with:
🧪 3 parts bad networking advice
🧪 2 parts questionable business practices
🧪 1 part one VERY bad idea
Pamela intended to make Tricia sick enough to stay home and buy herself time. She never intended for things to go as far as they did. Unfortunately, her plan went horribly wrong!
And remember Sherry, The Notary? Her digital notarization of a document related to the ProjectLaunchpad application made her look suspicious. But Sherry never handled the application itself. Pamela tainted the application after Sherry had digitally notarized the related document and before Pamela delivered it to Tricia on October 27.
Of course, the investigation wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining without the other suspects playing their parts. A special thank-you to Gerry Katz, The Lens, Sherry Simkins, The Notary, and Donald Kirkendall, The Fixer, for helping bring the mystery to life. And to all our suspects for playing along and keeping everyone guessing!
And those theories… WOW! Some teams really went all in. We had affairs, unexpected pregnancies, elaborate plots, and enough twists to fill a daytime drama! 😂 You all certainly gave us some memorable theories.
A special thank-you to our Quarterly Venue Sponsor, Teen Challenge, and our October Breakfast Sponsor, Don Kirkendall with AffordableONE Insurance, for helping make this wickedly fun morning possible. 🖤
And of course, thank you to everyone who embraced the Halloween spirit and came ready to play along. The costumes, the creativity, the teamwork, and the sheer determination to solve the mystery made this one a morning to remember!
Case closed. The Gatekeeper has been exposed. And the Grim Reaper? Well… she was right there among us all along. 👀💀🎃
