This Saturday, May 9th is holding their annual Used Book & Art Sale. We’ve been designing and printing card sets that will be available for purchase at the sale with all proceeds benefiting their work. The card sets feature global architecture made from LEGOs and printed by hand.

Featured here is Sophie Lieberman on the Provisional Press printing the The Taj Mahal in Agra, India. Sophie is currently a Senior at Seattle Academy interning with us for a month to learn the ins and outs of working at a design studio.

Spanning 20 acres and developed over 15 years,
Seattle’s Waterfront Park reconnects the city to
its roots along the water’s edge. Stories of the
region’s history, culture, ecology, geology, and
communities are woven throughout this regenerated
landscape. The interpretation covers an array of topics including the Great Seattle Fire of 1889.

See how the fire played a key role in reshaping the waterfront for the better along with how the city was built on the steep existing hills of the waterfront.

Playful murals highlight entrances and exits throughout the SAAS campus. The geometric forms are pulled from the ‘A’ letterforms in ‘SAAS’.

Originally called Seattle Academy of Arts & Sciences, this urban high school has embraced its snappy ‘SAAS’ acronym. In response, for their new upper school building designed by , we brought those SAAS letterforms to life in all different scales and materials. The welcoming entrance sign doubles as a photo op spot for students and staff to pause and perch. Though it’s been in place only since the start of the school year, the sign has already become a highly recognizable icon for the school.

This week we’re featuring signage and installation designs from the new SAAS Upper School building in the heart of Seattle. The donor wall is designed for flexibility over time: blank blocks are interspersed throughout the array of names, so that as more donors give, the blanks can be slid off, printed, and re-instated into the display.

The refurbishment of MoPOP’s Sound Lab was one of the studio’s very, very first projects. How gratifying to visit and see it all still in place! We had a lot of fun crafting the custom music posters that wrap the entry.

Sharing a few early shots from our recent SAAS Upper School photo shoot. We’ve been fortunate to work with on signage, graphics and donor recognition for SAAS (Seattle Academy); first for the Middle School building and now for the new Upper School.

So rewarding to see this urban high school campus — just a few blocks from our Capitol Hill studio — continue to take shape.
