Construction continues to progress at Micul Samaritean, a 67,000 sq. ft. senior housing campus in Romania, with walls, windows, and roofing now complete.

Set within 12 acres of natural landscape, the project has moved into interior buildout and site work, with crews now focused on finishing details across the campus. Additional sustainability features are also taking shape as construction continues.

Inside this dental practice in Grayslake, IL, a+c architects replaced the traditional waiting room with an experience modeled after first-class air travel. These renderings offer a first look at the interior vision.

Patients check in via iPad and head to a beverage bar instead of sitting in a waiting room, set within a palette of concrete, stainless steel, and custom aviation-inspired lighting. The same approach carries through to the 11 operatories, where integrated screens bring transparency directly to the patient's experience.

Construction is underway on Little Creative Minds, a 13,500-SF urban daycare designed by a+c architects, and with steel up and decking in progress, the project is really starting to take shape.

We partnered with Little Creative Minds to bring modern design to a tight site without sacrificing room for play. The building's angular form responds to the geometry of the site, with a contrasting mix of metal panels and stucco giving it a dynamic, layered look. Large windows will draw generous natural light into the interior.

Inside, eight light-filled classrooms, support spaces, and a playful caterpillar-inspired ceiling feature will come together into a vibrant, child-centric environment. Outdoors, a rooftop deck and a secure ground-level playground give kids ample space to play and explore.

Designing a recording studio takes as much precision as creativity, and we're thrilled to finally share professional photography of this recently completed project for Anthemology Studios.

Anthemology Studios is a mission-based studio built on healing, hope, and human connection, helping individuals facing medical, mental health, and other life hardships to create and record original music that tells their story. Designing for that mission meant shaping a space that feels open and collaborative while holding to exacting acoustic standards.

The studio is organized into three connected spaces: a control room, a recording room, and an expansive main space for both recording and gathering. Internal windows preserve clear sightlines between the artist, musicians, and engineer, while minimalist acoustic baffles manage sound reflections within a low-profile ceiling. A custom lighting system pairs clean ambient light with flexible laser arrays, so the atmosphere can shift to suit each session.

It was a genuinely fun shoot, and our whole team couldn't be happier with how it came together.

A redesigned facade can completely transform a building's relationship with its surroundings – and this boutique dental office in Grayslake, IL, is a perfect example. a+c architects is reimagining the exterior of a former hobby store, balancing the classical architectural aesthetic required by the Village of Grayslake with a bold, forward-thinking vision for what a dental practice can be.

From the street, the updated facade reads as a respectful nod to the town's traditional character, while the light brick, black and white detailing, and clerestory windows hint at something unexpected inside. And there is plenty unexpected inside, but that's a story for our next post.

Construction is progressing on the new 9,000 SF MCC Academy gymnasium in Morton Grove, IL. The foundation is laid, steel framing is up, and the walls and ceiling are taking shape.

The new facility replaces an outdated, undersized gym with expanded space for athletics, physical education, and school-wide events. Brick, metal panel, and acoustical CMUs form the exterior, while frosted glass along the upper walls will fill the interior with natural light, balanced with privacy and security for students.

More updates to come as the project moves forward.

Stair design plays a key role in shaping how light and movement are experienced within a space.

Across a+c architects' projects, open stair designs are used to maximize natural light, create a visual connection between levels, and introduce a sense of dynamism into everyday circulation. More than a means of moving between floors, stairs become spatial elements that organize light, frame views, and contribute to the overall architectural experience.
