September marks World Alzheimer’s Month, let’s turn awareness into action. At Rendever, we believe the best way to understand is to experience. That’s why our immersive empathy training allows caregivers, families, and leaders to step directly into the sensory and cognitive reality of living with dementia. By walking in their shoes, we can transform the quality of care we provide. 🩵

We're honored that our Dementia and Empathy Training has been nominated for the inaugural Senior Housing News Product of the Year (POY) Awards in the Workforce Management, Staffing & HR Technology category!

Our Dementia and Empathy Training program puts caregivers inside the experience of an individual living with dementia. This immersive experience allows them to see through their eyes, hear what they hear, and feel what they might feel.

By turning empathy into a skill that can be practiced and strengthened, we're equipping teams with the tools they need to provide more compassionate, person-centered care.

Voting is now open through September 30,2026!

The Product of the Year Awards celebrate solutions that are grounded in research and proven to drive meaningful change by elevating resident wellbeing, strengthening care and safety, and making operations more efficient across senior living communities. To be included among this year's nominees is a testament to the power of immersive technology in transforming how we support both residents and caregivers.

If you believe in the power of technology to drive empathy and improve workforce effectiveness in senior living, we'd be grateful for your vote.

We have been working on an exciting initiative called VR-CARES, which is an acronym for Virtual Reality for Caregiver Assembly, Respite, Empowerment, and Support!

We are conducting a National Institute on Aging (NIA)- funded phase I clinical trial with 30 care professionals participating to design and test the first-of-its-kind VR platform. This is crafted by caregivers for caregivers, to help each other connect, recharge, and feel less alone in the vital work they do every day.

Participants will have access categories of programming, including: NAMI facilitated support groups with Erin Naffziger, dementia education and connection sessions with Carrie Aalberts, MS, BC-DEd, known as Dementia Darling and Nicole Will, immersive training experiences including Rendever’s Dementia and Empathy Training followed by group debriefs, peer gatherings, and an on demand podcast library.

As part of our clinical trial, we are looking forward to launching the VR-CARES prototype in an 8-week deployment to support professional dementia caregivers in an immersive and intentional support environment.

Stay tuned for updates on the impacts of this new program and how you can get involved in future studies.

Your vote can bring this conversation to SXSW 2027 and we need your help.

Our proposed session will bring together our CEO and co‑founder, Kyle Rand, our Head of Marketing & Partnerships, Nicole Will, and Carrie Aalberts, MS, BC-DEd (better known as Dementia Darling) for a powerful discussion on Social Prescribing. This is an emerging approach that bridges clinical care with community‑based support to improve holistic well‑being.

We believe this is a conversation that belongs on the SXSW stage, especially for those touched by dementia and the broader aging population. But we can't get there without you.

Here's how you can make support us ⬇️

Vote for our session here:

Voting is open until August 23rd. Please take a moment, click the link, and give us your support. And if you're able, share this with your network the more voices, the stronger our case.
