When beginning this historic master bathroom renovation, we like to start by thinking of how this space would have been designed originally, and how we can bring it up to date with timeless and quality finishes. Here are some things we incorporated into this bathroom to make it as efficient and authentic as possible!
1. PASS-THROUGH SHOWER
• the shower in the space is behind the free-standing tub wall where a doorway is placed on either side for easy access and an intentional feeling.
2. THE WINDOW WALL
• so many missed opportunities happen on the wall that is shallow and not taken up by plumbing fixture. We made sure this wall served a purpose with a 1’x1’ linen closet for maximum storage, 2 hooks for hanging towels, and a air register unit custom made to act as a decorative accent rather than an eyesore.
3. MILLWORK
Millwork is one of the easiest and most effective way to add charm to a space. We used wainscoting, crown molding, and heavily trim in a pastel grey to add texture and detail to this small space. We also Carrey the wainscoting up the main wall while a chair rail wrapped around the rest of the room so that nothing felt untouched!
