🌟 Board Spotlight - Carolyn Rodgers 🌟

Carolyn Rodgers is a Spearfish transplant who brings more than two decades of teaching experience from Illinois and Colorado into her work and community involvement in the Black Hills. After years in elementary classrooms, she now works alongside Rae Marie Homes and Crow Peak Cabinetry, supporting client communication, design coordination, and the many details that go into building thoughtful, well-crafted homes.

She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership with a concentration in Literacy, with research focused on strengthening leadership communication practices that support adult understanding and engagement. Carolyn enjoys connecting people, solving problems, and bringing strong organization and attention to detail to the many moving pieces of a project.

When she’s not working or studying, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors with her family, cheering on local businesses, and continuing the process of becoming a true Black Hills local.

Meet Michele Clodfelder, the heart behind Canyon Wellness! 🌄

After careers in ranching, daycare, and logistics, Michele found her calling in mental health and created Canyon Wellness to offer compassionate, individualized care for the Spearfish community.

Inspired by the beauty and resilience of Spearfish Canyon, Canyon Wellness focuses on authentic connection, personal growth, and meeting clients where they are in life’s journey. Their team currently includes a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Marriage & Family Therapist, and Equine-Assisted Therapist — with plans to continue expanding services for the community.

What makes Canyon Wellness unique? Every provider brings their own genuine style and approach, creating a supportive environment where healing feels personal, welcoming, and real.

Beyond the office, Canyon Wellness also works with the VA on su***de prevention efforts and strives to make mental health support more approachable and accessible for all.
