The Pour is your chance to explore wine at your own pace through a relaxed, self-guided tasting experience, and this month, we’re diving into how vineyard location shapes the wine in your glass. From temperature and wind to elevation, slope, and soil, where grapes are grown can completely change their flavor and character.

I could honestly talk about vineyards for hours 😉 but this month we’ll specifically focus on how location, temperature, and wind influence the grapes — and ultimately the wine you taste.

Recipe of the Month: Roasted Salmon with White Wine Sauce

When the early summer rain adds a little cooler weather - it calls for turning the oven back on… and this recipe is absolutely worth it! Especially paired with a chilled glass of our Pinot Grigio (it's on sale right now *hint *hint 😉)!

Ellena’s Notes:

“In 2009, Mike and I traveled to the Queen Charlotte Islands off the western coast of Canada where we experienced four days of phenomenal salmon fishing. We came home with one hundred and fifty pounds of fully dressed and filleted Coho and Chinook. This was a first for me, and I’m not sure if the Chinook or I jumped more when I hooked into a twenty-eight pounder!

This really, really easy and delicious salmon recipe is one we tried upon returning home. Maybe it was the freshly caught fish or the simplicity of the recipe, but it was marvelous.”
