We had the honor of attending the ribbon cutting for the Grant County Sheriff's Office - WA in Ephrata, WA, marking a significant upgrade to the county’s corrections infrastructure.

Contract Design supplied furnishings throughout the facility, including offices, workstations, training rooms, the entry vestibule, lobby spaces, media room, storage rooms, conference and meeting rooms, and portions of the corrections areas.

A workplace should reflect the people, culture, and mission behind it.

Spanning 45,000 square feet, these headquarters office renovations support focus, collaboration, and connection through a thoughtfully curated mix of work settings and employee amenities.

Inspired by natural elements, the space features a curated blend of materials, textures, and pops of color, creating an environment that feels both modern and welcoming. Every detail works together to reinforce the client's brand while enhancing the employee experience.

We traded floor plans for paint brushes and spent the afternoon celebrating the joy of design.

We hosted a Paint and Sip event inspired by Alexander Girard, bringing together the local design community for an evening of color, creativity, and connection.

Guests created paintings inspired by his Hand and Dove Environmental Enrichment Panel while exploring his bold use of color, folk art influence, and playful approach to design.

The right chair changes everything.

Selecting healthcare seating is complex. Comfort, durability, and cleanability all need to perform without compromise. It can be difficult for clients to visualize how different seating options will feel and function in real use. We created a chair mockup for a healthcare client, bringing together task seating, guest seating, and lounge seating in one space for hands on testing.

The result is confident decision making, with solutions that support caregivers, patients, and visitors every day. The best outcomes come from experiencing design firsthand.

A great afternoon of learning and conversation, and a sincere thank you to .inwcampus for hosting a CEU on Leading Modernism presented by ’s Matt Thompson at , where we also had the opportunity to learn more about the building’s midcentury architectural history.

The course explored the roots of modernism through the Bauhaus and the lasting influence of designers including Marcel Breuer, Harry Bertoia, Mies van der Rohe, Gilbert Rohde, Eliel Saarinen, Eero Saarinen, Florence Knoll, Ray Eames, Charles Eames, George Nelson, and Alexander Girard, whose work and relationships helped shape the design legacy of and and continues to influence American design today.

Following the CEU, Matt shared updates on MillerKnoll’s newly opened Archives along with the Manufacturing Modern and Eventually Everything Connects exhibits, offering a deeper look into the history, innovation, and relationships that continue to define modern design.

Modernism continues to shape how we design today, proving that the most enduring ideas are rooted in history while continually evolving for what is next.

Material selections are being finalized, client presentations are taking shape, and installations are underway. Each step is thoughtful, intentional, and designed for performance, with a focus on the people using these spaces every day. Great design is built in the details.
