The light of liberty travels fast. 🐎
By late July 1776, copies of the Declaration of Independence were traveling by horseback to every corner of the new nation. From Boston to Savannah, citizens gathered in town squares under the night sky to celebrate a dawn of a new era.
250 years later, Spring City Electrical is proud to manufacture the lighting that illuminates those very same historic town squares, main streets, and community hubs where American history continues to unfold. We don't just build lampposts; we keep the traditional spirit of American craftsmanship alive. ✨🛠️

Connecting history with modern innovation. 🌉
There are few places more patriotic than the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Washington, D.C. Named after the man who wrote the lyrics to the Star-Spangled Banner, it is the oldest surviving bridge crossing the Potomac River! Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, this iconic structure received a major lighting upgrade during its 2014 rehabilitation.
Spring City was chosen to supply Washington lampposts and Washington 118 Globe high efficiency LED luminaires to relight this historic bridge. Painted in the bridge's iconic aquamarine coloring, our lights proudly guide the way across the capital's waters.

The city where it all began!
Did you know that 250 years ago yesterday—on July 8, 1776—the Declaration of Independence was publicly read for the very first time right here in Philadelphia? The city's bells rang out to summon citizens to the State House Yard to hear Colonel John Nixon read the historic words that would change the world forever.
To keep the celebrations going, we are shining a light on the birthplace of our nation. Take a look at some of the beautiful streets Spring City Electrical has illuminated across the City of Brotherly Love!

Did you know the "tech executives" of the 1770s were metal casters?
As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we’re looking back at the revolutionary roots of our industry. Of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, six owned metal casting facilities.
By operating these furnaces and forges, these Founding Fathers weren't just building businesses—they were actively defying the British Iron Act of 1750, which prohibited the manufacturing of finished metal products in the American colonies.
We are especially proud that four of these trailblazing metal casters were from right here in our home state of Pennsylvania:
• George Ross: Owned the Mary Ann Furnace (West Manheim Township, PA)
• James Smith: Operated the Codorus Creek Forge (York County, PA)
• George Taylor: Leased and managed the Durham Furnace (Bucks County, PA)
• James Wilson: Held significant interests in the Hopewell Furnace (Union Township, PA)
• Charles Carroll: Owned extensive ironworks (Carrollton, MD)
• Stephen Hopkins: Invested in the Hope Furnace (Pawtuxet River, RI)
For 250 years, American metal casting has literally helped forge this nation. At Spring City Electrical, we are incredibly proud to carry on that historic legacy of American manufacturing today. Happy Independence Day, America! 🎇
