PART 4 — The Transition to Sales

I got off the highway and stepped into a whole new arena — Business to Business Sales.

Credit card processing. Energy management. TV and internet. Three completely different industries. Same mission every time — find the problem and bring the solution.

Every industry taught me something different about how businesses operate, how owners think, and what they actually need to grow.

And I kept coaching baseball on the side — winning 2 Men’s League Championships along the way.

Different roads. Same purpose.

Every skill I picked up was adding another tool to my belt. I just didn’t know yet exactly what I was building toward.

PART 3 — The Road to Freedom

I drove a truck for 15 years. All 48 states. Mexico. Canada.

And people think that’s just driving. They have NO idea.

Running a truck is running a business on wheels. Fuel management. Scheduling. Customer relations. Compliance. Taxes. Negotiations with brokers. I did ALL of it.

8 years as a company driver learning the game. 3 years as a lease operator mastering operations. Then I owned my own trucking company — Tolbert Daughter and Son Transport

That was the best time of my life. Not because it was easy — because it was MINE.

The road taught me that discipline builds freedom. And freedom builds legacy.

PART 2 — The Next Step

They made me assistant coach at 13. At a middle school. While I was still in high school myself.

Not because I asked for it — because I EARNED it.

That’s when I learned that leadership isn’t given. It’s recognized. And once you prove you can lead, bigger doors start opening.

From assistant coach → to head coach → to building programs from last place to 3rd and 4th every single year.

Coaching didn’t just teach me about sports. It taught me about people. About culture. About how to take something broken and build it into something that WINS.

That’s exactly what I do for businesses today.

The Narrative Behind In Your Corner Business Coaching. It is the 7th part of the entire narrative; collectively, you will comprehend the Benefits of collaborating with IYCBC.

PART 1 — The Beginning

Every great story has a starting point. Mine started at 12 years old with a lesson from my dad that changed everything — “You’re going to have to work for it.”

That one sentence lit a fire in me that never went out.

I didn’t wait for opportunities to come to me. I went and earned them. From umpiring Little League to District Playoffs to Regional Games… every call I made on that field was teaching me something bigger than baseball.

Experience. Leadership. Knowledge. Logistics.

Those four words became the foundation of everything I’ve built.

This is Part 1 of my story — and trust me, it only gets bigger from here.
