⚠ Please take note if you are heading south into Indiana, or know loved ones in the Hoosier state. A statewide state of emergency has been declared for all of Indiana due to flooding, severe weather, tornadoes, and the derecho that impacted the region on August 11th, 2026, with more severe weather and extreme flash flooding expected again this afternoon into the overnight hours. Even this afternoon, parts of the state are dealing with 100°F heat indices. A little bit of everything, like a page straight out of the Michigan weather playbook.
Here in Michigan, clouds and lighter rain will be possible tonight. While we are thankful that the ridging pattern has left us rather unaffected, our thoughts are with our friends to the south.
