Sitting at the well of life,
yet every situation seems too deep to draw from.
Here I am with my limited bucket, returning day after day,
carrying the weight of life,
daily demands, rigorous routines, competing priorities.
Life shifts, yet I keep showing up with the same limited bucket at the same deep well.
Sigh,
Leaning my weight against the well, pausing for one brief moment just to sit in stillness.
Then the phone rings, another demand requiring my attention,
as if my attention were not already depleted.
Looking up to catch the breeze.
Life is lifing,
but not on my terms.
My mind is tossed,
My body exhausted,
and my soul is thirsty.
The well is deep, and my bucket is limited.
I reach for the rope.
Exhale.
Catch it! I Got it!
But what do I actually have?
Nothing at all.
Day after day, I return to ordinary methods, trying to draw what only grace can provide.
My arms fall in disappointment.
Overwhelmed at the well, my head drops and my tears become the only water flowing.
The Encounter.
“My daughter,
drink from the water I give,
and I will give you rest.
Search for Me with your whole heart. Find Me in the deep places, for I am the Living Well.
The water I give will become within you a fountain of life springing up into everlasting life.
Daughter, drop your limited bucket. Take hold of Me The Living Water that revives your soul.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.
When you walk through the rivers reflecting your present season, they will not overwhelm you.
My eyes are upon you,
and I have taken up residence within you.
Lean not upon your own understanding.
My plans are to prosper you, to give you hope and an expected end.
The well may be deep
but I am deeper.
Lean on Me.
My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
You are the vessel, and I am the Potter.
Trust Me, My daughter.
All things work together for good to those who love Me and are called according to My purpose.
I have spoken these things
so that you may have hope and know that I have favored you in the midst of your deep well. Seek those things which are above. What you cant see is your at the well to revive others while I continue to do the great work I started in you.
