Not every day is demo. Sometimes we take on projects simply because no one else has the ability.

After being turned away by numerous contractors, Chris hired Major League Demo to remove the 24’ brick wall between his living room and sunroom in his grandmother’s old house.

It’s really wonderful having mature, calm, talented, and educated employees.

The only issue we had while snaking a 22’6” W12x50 beam — weighing in at 1,125 pounds — over a gap, through a window, and 10 feet into the air for a recessed beam installation was when I forgot the forklift keys on the kitchen counter and had to hot-wire my forklift.

Monday, Dustin with Valley Park Welding will weld in the 6x6x5/8” posts, and then we’ll return to pad the beam out, straighten this 75-year-old home, and finish framing.

I really want to take a minute to thank my talented crew. The team of guys we have working for us right now is incredible.

No pressure, right? We’re just cutting a doorway through a wall that’s been there longer than most of us have been alive.

We were brought in to saw cut a brand-new exit through solid brick and concrete—right in one of the most unique buildings in St. Louis.

No smashing.

What started as a space that wasn’t working… is now a space built for her.

When we met Veronica and her family, everyday life inside their home was harder than it should’ve been. Tight spaces. Limited accessibility. Constant workarounds.

With the floors needing minimal traffic over the weekend, we held off — but on Monday, it was time for a special finishing touch.

Veronica’s custom wall decal, created by Image 360, was installed and completely transformed the space.

Bill Elder, the owner, along with his design team, worked closely with Diane to bring Veronica’s vision to life. From concept to ex*****on, every detail was intentional. They even created additional heart decals that can be placed once her furniture is back in the room, allowing the design to be customized to fit her new layout perfectly.

Last Thursday and Friday, Evan’s Flooring returned to Veronica’s home to sand and refinish the floors — seamlessly blending the newly installed flooring with the existing areas from the week before.

The result speaks for itself. If you didn’t know this space had just been renovated, you’d never guess the floors weren’t always this way. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride they take in their work truly shows.

Time to get organized!

We reached out to Josh Koehnemann, owner of KBuild, to see if he had a recommendation for a closet organization company that could help design custom closet organizers to better store Veronica’s medical supplies and make her space more functional in her existing closet.

Josh immediately said they would gladly custom build them in their fab shop and what they delivered went far beyond what we imagined. The KBuild team custom-built not only her closet, but two full walls of storage to accommodate wheelchair storage, medical supplies, personal care items, and her wardrobe—all in one cohesive system.

Everything was designed to be modular, allowing Veronica’s storage to be adjusted and customized as her needs evolve.

Jim, who handled both the measurements and installation, was incredibly kind and intentional throughout the process. He spent a great deal of time with Diane to ensure every detail was tailored to make their day-to-day life as easy and functional as possible in the new space.

The doors have been measured and ordered following the installation of the cabinets—we’ll share an update once those are installed.

Everyone knows KBuild for their luxury homes and stunning remodels, but they should also be recognized for their generosity and willingness to give back to families in need.
