Open Range Pest Control LLC

Open Range Pest Control LLC Founded by a retired State Trooper, Open Range Pest Control is now led by his son, US Marine veteran DeLane Patterson. Marine—has joined the Open Range team.

With 25 years of experience, DeLane carries on the family tradition of protecting Arizona homes with integrity, service, and expertise. Our story begins with a legacy of service. In 2002, after a decorated 27-year career as a Sergeant with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Dennis Patterson founded Open Range Pest Control. Built on a foundation of integrity and a friendly, “never met a stranger” attit

ude, Dennis's commitment to solving his customers' problems allowed the business to grow rapidly, largely through word-of-mouth referrals. In 2011, following his own tradition of service as a United States Marine, DeLane Patterson partnered with his father to help lead the expanding family business. DeLane brought with him a deep passion for the science of pest management and a mission to become a leading expert in the industry. Today, DeLane proudly leads Open Range Pest Control, combining his father's founding principles with his own 25 years of hands-on industry experience. His extensive knowledge has earned him licenses in four states, including five in Arizona alone, and the prestigious QualityPro designation from the National Pest Management Association—the mark of excellence in pest management. Today, the legacy of service continues into a third generation, as DeLane’s son Christopher—also a proud U.S. This multi-generational commitment, from a State Trooper to two generations of Marines, is the foundation of our business. Our promise is simple: to combine decades of family experience and a passion for our craft to protect your home with integrity and expertise.

Thinking about calling a pest control company for a "one-time" spray? Here is the honest truth about why you might be throwing your money away. 💸☀️

At Open Range Pest Control, we do offer one-time cleanouts, but we will always be straight with you: we rarely recommend them. Why? Because the Arizona desert is brutal.

When we treat your property, that protective barrier is at 100% strength. But every single day it bakes in the scorching Arizona sun, that product degrades by about 1%.

📉 After 30 days: You are at 70% strength.
📉 After 90 days: You are down to just 10%.

Now, 10% might stop a basic cricket, but if you live anywhere near the Agua Fria Riverbed or deal with Scorpions, you MUST keep that barrier at 70% or higher. 🦂

With a one-time spray, you are fighting a losing battle. With our regular defense plans, we re-apply the barrier before it drops—meaning pests never get the chance to re-infest your walls.

(The only time a one-time service actually makes sense is for a sudden bee swarm or if you are prepping a vacant house in Peoria or Sun City for move-in!)

Don't waste your money on a temporary fix. Protect your home the right way with our transparent, NO-CONTRACT maintenance plans starting at just $40/month. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! 🏡🛡️

If a pest control company hides their pricing behind a "Call for a Free Quote" button, run the other way. 🏃‍♂️💨

Right now, the summer "door knockers" are out in full force across Phoenix neighborhoods. They’ll offer you an incredible-sounding "$29 initial service."

What they won't tell you is that the $29 spray is a basic exterior-only splash, and hidden in the fine print is a binding 1-to-2-year contract. They hide their prices so they can trap you with high-pressure sales tactics.

At Open Range Pest Control, we fundamentally disagree with that kind of corporate nonsense. We believe in doing things the right way, which means total transparency. Our pricing is listed right on our website for everyone to see.

For a standard home (up to 3,500 sq ft), our general pest control covers ants, crickets, roaches, spiders, and even Scorpions 🦂.

Here is exactly what it costs—no guessing, no haggling:
⭐ The Marshall (Quarterly): $120 Initial / $40 a month (Most Popular!)
⭐ The Sheriff (Bi-Monthly): $100 Initial / $50 a month
⭐ The Deputy (Monthly): $60 Initial / $60 a month

We have absolutely ZERO contracts. You can cancel at any time. We rely on an ironclad handshake guarantee because we believe our work should speak for itself. We earn your business every time we pull into your driveway.

Tired of the gimmicks? Click below to see our services and book your honest pest defense today! 👇

Confession time... 🏜️

Our official YouTube channel has technically been around for 13 years, but if we're being completely honest, it’s been sitting out in the desert gathering dust and totally neglected.

But that changes today! We are officially blowing the dust off and reviving the Open Range Pest Control YouTube channel.

We are going to be regularly posting expert, no-nonsense advice to help you protect your homestead. From identifying early warning signs of termites and stopping scorpions in their tracks, to behind-the-scenes looks at how we keep your properties secure—we are sharing it all.

We would absolutely love it if our Open Range family could head over, check out the content, and hit that Subscribe button to help us grow this new frontier!

Team is growing, routes are tightening, and it’s time to upgrade the gear to match the level of service we provide.
We are moving away from the "standard" look and upgrading the crew to a more tactical, heat-resistant kit for the summer, plus overhauling the fleet branding.
Before I go pay full retail or hire a stranger, I wanted to ask my friends and family here first. I’d rather keep the money local and work with people you trust.
I am looking for recommendations for:
👔 Uniforms & Embroidery:
We need to source about 20-30 "Performance Button-Up" shirts (Think Columbia PFG or Port Authority style) and get them embroidered.
The Catch: I need a shop that understands how to stitch logos on lightweight performance fabric without puckering it.
Bonus: If they have a wholesale account so I don't have to buy the shirts at retail prices first, that’s a huge plus.
🚛 Truck Graphics / Wraps:
We aren't doing full wraps (too much $$). I need a shop that specializes in clean, high-quality "Partial Wraps."
Specifically looking to wrap the tailgates and do custom die-cut logos on the doors.
Need someone with an eye for design who can make a "less is more" look pop.
If you know a business owner or a shop in the Peoria/West Valley area that does top-tier work for a fair price, please tag them below or shoot me a DM.
Let’s get the Open Range team looking as sharp as they work. Thanks, everyone! 👊🇺🇸

It’s officially Turkey Week! 🦃

As you start prepping the kitchen and baking pies, here is your Maintenance Monday tip: Watch the sugar.

Ants have an incredible sense of smell. If you’re doing a lot of baking over the next few days, wipe down those counters immediately. A tiny spill of sugar or flour is like ringing the dinner bell for a colony.

Keep the kitchen clean, keep the seal on the pantry tight, and save the leftovers for the humans—not the ants!

We know next week is going to be a whirlwind of grocery runs, cooking, and family arriving from out of town.

Before the Thanksgiving chaos kicks off, we hope you get a chance to get outside and enjoy this incredible Arizona weather this weekend. Whether you’re camping, hiking, or just sitting on the patio—take a breather!

The Open Range team is finishing up our routes so we can do the same. Have a great weekend, everyone!

What We Found Wednesday: The Weather Shift. 🌧️🥶

You might be loving this cooler weather (and the moisture!), but the bugs... not so much. We’re seeing a shift in movement. As the temps drop, crickets, spiders, and scorpions stop hanging out on the block walls and start moving toward the warmth of your foundation and garage.

If you’re seeing more activity near the garage door seals or weep holes, it’s just them looking for a cozy winter rental. We’re serving the Northwest Valley to make sure those "No Vacancy" signs are clearly posted.

Bringing out the holiday decorations this weekend? 🎄

Before you deck the halls, remember where those boxes have been sitting for the last 11 months... your garage, shed, or attic.

These quiet, dark places are the perfect hiding spots for dormant pests. We get a lot of calls this time of year from families who suddenly find scorpions or black widows inside, and they're often accidental hitchhikers from these storage boxes.

Our Pro-Tip: Unpack your decorations outside or in the garage first. Give each item (especially wreaths, artificial trees, and light strands) a good visual inspection and a gentle shake before bringing it into your living room.

A quick check now can prevent a very unwanted holiday surprise!

Doing some early Thanksgiving shopping? 🦃 Don't bring home any uninvited dinner guests!

This is the time of year when we stock up on flour, spices, cornmeal, and boxed stuffing. It's also prime time for Pantry Pests (like Indian Meal Moths) to hitch a ride from the grocery store.

Holiday Pro-Tip: When you get home, transfer your dry goods from their original bags/boxes into airtight, hard-plastic, or glass containers.

This simple step does two things:

It prevents anything from getting into your food.

If an item was already infested, it contains the problem, saving the rest of your pantry!

Check out this absolute monster Tanner found on a property today! 🐛

This is a To***co Hornworm, the larval stage of the impressive Carolina Sphinx Moth. If you’re a home gardener, you may have seen (or battled) these before. They are infamous for their voracious appetite and can strip the leaves off tomato, pepper, and eggplant plants seemingly overnight.

They’re a perfect example of camouflage, blending in perfectly with the green stems of their favorite food.

While they're a major pest for your garden, the good news is they are harmless to people and pets and aren't interested in coming inside your home. The best way to control them in a home garden is often just to pick them off by hand!
