Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the lives lost, honor the courage shown, and recognize those committed to preserving the stories of that day.

Greg Carafello, Principal Broker and franchise owner of First Choice Business Brokers of New York City, was working in the South Tower when the attacks occurred. Greg and his employees escaped, but his lifelong best friend, James Martello, did not make it home.

Since 2012, Greg has volunteered more than 1,550 hours as a docent at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Through tours, school presentations, and conversations with visitors from around the world, he helps ensure that future generations understand what happened and remember those whose lives were forever changed.

Greg later returned to the World Trade Center and now operates from the 85th floor of One World Trade Center—the only business tenant from September 11 to return to the site. His extraordinary commitment to remembrance and service recently earned him recognition as a Daily Point of Light honoree.

The entire First Choice Business Brokers organization is proud to have Greg as part of our family. His resilience, leadership, and dedication remind us that remembrance is not passive—it is a responsibility we carry forward.
