This Grand Design Imagine received a major electrical upgrade with future expansion already built into the design.
Here's what we installed:
🔋 628Ah Epoch lithium battery bank ⚡ Victron MultiPlus-II 12V 3000VA 2x120 inverter/charger 📊 Victron GX Touch 70 display 🔌 Victron Lynx Distributor with 500A SmartShunt 🛡️ 400A Class T fuse and battery disconnect
The customer decided to keep the factory Go Power solar controller for now, but we intentionally left space for a future Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/85. That means when it's time to expand the solar array, the electrical system is already prepared.
We also relocated the battery bank from the trailer tongue into a protected interior compartment, improving weight distribution, battery protection, and serviceability.
A well-designed electrical system isn't just about today's equipment—it's about making future upgrades simple and cost-effective.

❄️ The hardest part of installing a SoftStart isn't usually the wiring—it's finding the right wires.
On many Furrion rooftop air conditioners, the compressor wiring is wrapped inside a protective sleeve, making it difficult to identify at first glance.
Our approach is simple:
🔍 Trace the wire loom back to the compressor. ✂️ Carefully open the outer sleeve. ⚡ Identify the compressor conductors. 📖 Follow the SoftStart wiring diagram for your specific model.
Taking the time to positively identify the wiring helps create a cleaner installation and avoids unnecessary troubleshooting later.
Whether you're installing a SoftStart for easier generator starts or to improve inverter compatibility, careful preparation is just as important as the final wiring.

🔋 Not every lithium conversion has to be complicated.
This Thor Windsport was a great example of an RV that was already set up for a relatively straightforward upgrade.
Here's what we did:
✅ Replaced 200Ah of lead-acid batteries with a 300Ah Epoch lithium battery ✅ Installed a Lithium BIM LI-225 in place of the factory BIM ✅ Verified the factory converter supported lithium charging ✅ Built a custom battery tray to properly support the new battery
Before any lithium conversion, we always evaluate the complete charging system—including the converter, alternator charging, battery isolation components, and battery compartment—to make sure everything works together properly.
The end result is more usable battery capacity, less maintenance, and a system that's ready for years of reliable camping.
