Question of the Day: what's the best way to mount Rich Solar MEGA 250 panels on your RV roof? 🔧 Putting the Z brackets together is simple — but here's the extra step we always take: butyl tape on the bottom of all four feet, trimmed to fit before we ever go up the ladder. Up top, peel the backing, set the panel, and it holds in place while we drive the screws. The butyl seals around every screw, then we cover it all with the right sealant for the roof. Question of the Day: your solar controller isn't seeing any voltage from the roof — so how do you know if the panel itself is still good? 🔍 We disconnect it right at the roof entry port, since that port and the wiring are the only things between the panel and the controller. Then we meter positive to negative. Zero volts? That panel's done — most likely a bad diode inside. Off it comes, new one goes on. If your system isn't charging and you'd rather not climb up there with a meter, link in bio and we'll track it down for you.

Question of the Day: once Auto Gen Start is wired in, how do you actually run it? 📲 It's all right there on your Cerbo GX touchscreen — turn the inverter on and off, use the shortcut button for quick access, manually start or stop the generator, or let the full AGS profile handle it based on the criteria you've set. This couple came all the way from the UK to see America — and next stop is a winter in Baja. So their Alliance Avenue needed real off-grid power. Two Victron MultiPlus-II 24V inverters, three Epoch 24V lithium batteries and 2,000W of solar. The big question was whether it would all fit. It did — panels went over the vent pipes on taller mounts, and everything got tested one step at a time before we handed over the keys. Full build is on YouTube — link's in the first comment. Question of the Day: can your Cerbo GX actually start your generator for you? ⚡ With the right hardware, yes — we're wiring in an Elevation AGS module here so the Cerbo can auto-start and stop your generator based on your battery's state of charge, with an adjustable delay built in. Shown on an Onan 5500, and there's a right and wrong side of that wiring harness to tap if you want your factory remote panel to keep working too. Question of the day: when you terminate an SAE connection, is getting the polarity right the whole job?
Not quite. Once it's terminated correctly, we heat-shrink every SAE connection to seal it against the elements — not just the ones that are exposed to weather. It's a small step that saves a callback later.

Question of the day: your solar charge controller is flashing P01 — what does that actually mean?
Reverse polarity on the input. It's a more common mistake than you'd think, and it's a quick fix once you know what the code is telling you — the voltage reading comes right back to normal once it's corrected.

Build your own adapter cable. It sounds more intimidating than it is, and it means you get the exact length you need instead of whatever length a pre-made cable happens to come in.

Question of the day: can your Victron Orion XS jump a dead chassis battery? Now it can 🔋 Victron's free firmware v1.15 adds emergency reverse charge to the Orion XS DC-DC charger. Update the VictronConnect app to v6.43 or newer, connect to your Orion, and install v1.15. You'll see a new engine icon. When you're stuck, turn off your headlights, tap the engine icon, check I understand and hit Start. The Orion charges your starter battery from your house battery for 15 minutes, rests 5, and shows Battery ready. That's your window to crank it. Orion XS 1400 owners: set your starter battery voltage to 12V or 24V first. It's an emergency tool, not a battery fix. Free step-by-step guide in the first comment 👇
