After 20 years of parent coaching, I’ve noticed a powerful parallel: we often treat our elderly differently than our children, even when their behaviors are exactly the same. Understanding the 'why' behind your teen's brain helps you stay calm and connected.

Shift your perspective to transform your parenting. 🧠

Loving someone with an addiction doesn't come with a script. It comes with worn-out hope, walking on eggshells, and loving your child through chapters that don't make sense.

You didn't cause it. You can't control it. But you can find steadiness inside it.

Loving an Addict is a 6-week guided group for parents doing exactly that — a small, supportive space to stay grounded when everything else feels anything but.

Wednesdays, September 16 – October 21
7:00–8:30 p.m. ET, 90-minute sessions

This group is intentionally small, and it closes once it's full.

If this is where you are right now, you don't have to carry it alone.

When your teen snaps, shuts down, or says something that stings — it's easy to call it disrespect.

But disrespect and dysregulation look almost identical from the outside. And how you respond to one versus the other makes all the difference.

A dysregulated brain isn't choosing to be difficult. It's a nervous system that's overwhelmed and out of capacity.

Understanding that one distinction changes how you show up — and it changes what happens next in your home.

Being a good dad was never about having all the answers. It's about showing up steady, even when you don't.

Better Men, Better Dads is a 6-week guided group for fathers who want to lead their families by first leading themselves — especially through the teen years, when your presence matters more than you might think.

This isn't a lecture. It's a small group of men doing the real work: showing up, being honest, and figuring out what kind of father they want to be.

Tuesdays, August 18 – September 22
9:00–10:00 a.m. PT or 3:00–4:00 p.m. PT — pick the time that works for you
60-minute sessions

Space is limited, and it closes once it's full.

If you're ready to lead differently, this one's for you.

You didn't mean to raise your voice. You didn't plan on shutting down mid-conversation. But somewhere between everything you're carrying and everything you're trying to hold together, it happened anyway.

That's not a character flaw. It's what happens when parents run out of tools before they run out of love.

The Grounded Parent is a 6-week guided group built for exactly that gap — a small, steady space to learn how to lead from your best self, not your worst moment.

Starting August 4. For 6 weeks on Tuesdays at 5:00–6:00 p.m. ET.

This group is intentionally small, and it starts soonest of anything we're offering this fall. Once it's full, it closes.

If this sounds like where you are right now, this group was built for you.

If your teen seems unmotivated, stuck, or like they just… don’t do anything, you’re not imagining it.

And you’re definitely not alone.

What looks like laziness is often something else entirely:
Overwhelm
Executive functioning challenges
Shut down responses

And when parents respond by pushing harder, it usually makes things worse — not better.

More conflict.
More avoidance.
More frustration on both sides.

The shift isn’t doing more.
It’s understanding what’s actually getting in the way — and responding differently.

That’s where things start to move.
If this feels familiar, there’s a path forward.

If your home has felt tense lately…

If you're the dad who wants to be more present but isn't sure how to get there…

If someone you love is struggling with addiction and you're the one holding it together…

If your teen shuts down or pushes back and you can't quite tell what they need…

You don't need more information. You need tools and support.

This fall, we're offering four small, guided parent groups, each built around a challenge many families are facing right now.

The Grounded Parent
Learn how to stay calm and lead from your best self.

Better Men, Better Dads
Show up as a more engaged, steady father in your teen's life.

Loving an Addict
Find steadiness and support when addiction is affecting someone you love.

Understanding Defiance
Decode what your teen is actually communicating when they push back or shut down.

Each group runs for 6 weeks, led by experienced specialists, in a small, supportive setting.

These groups are intentionally small. When they're full, they close.

If one of these feels like it was written about your life right now — trust that.

Enrollment is open now. Register soon to hold your spot.

The forgotten assignments. The inability to start. The mornings that fall apart no matter how much warning you give.

Executive functioning struggles are real and they look a lot like laziness from the outside.

For many teens, especially those with ADHD or neurodivergent brains, the skills that make planning, starting, and following through possible are genuinely delayed. Not because they don't care. Because their brain isn't there yet.

When parents understand this, everything changes including how they respond, what they expect, and what actually helps.
