COMING SOON - EMOSY PROGRAM SUMMARY

For more than 50 years, Tulsa Stained Glass has invited people to learn, grow, and create with their hands. What began in Richard Bohm’s home dining room in 1975 grew into a place where making things became a way to build confidence, connection and meaning.

In 2021, Richard introduced the EMOSY (Emotion + Symbolism), a creative process designed to help people make thoughts, values, experiences and possibilities visible. Built around the five-step path Explore • Sketch • Refine • Design • Share, EMOSY offers a practical, art-driven way to encourage self-expression, reflection, problem-solving and participation.

Today, EMOSY books, coloring pages, workshops, team outings and hands-on classes offer benefits leaders, teams and professionals can recognize.

A new Program Summary booklet is coming soon to learn more about the EMOSY program and how helping professionals can benefit from using it with their clients, as well as a self-care resource.

EMOSY ART CHALLENGE PROMPT OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER

Let your inner artist out to explore with the EMOSY Art Challenge Prompt of the Month.

Each month, a new word will be provided as an inspiration for illustrating your thoughts and feelings into something you can see. The challenge is to turn your impression of the prompt into an image, which can be the beginning of an art project. Then let your inner artist loose in the art medium of your choice to visually express your feelings. It could be drawing, painting, photography, stained glass, mosaics, quilting, needlework, junk journals, collage – the possibilities are endless! It doesn’t matter what it is or what the final project looks like. The goal is not to make something perfect or pretty. The goal is to make something that means something to you.

The Word of the Month for October is "Curiosity."

Once your artwork has been completed, share it with us and the world! Post it in the comments on our page here or email it to [email protected]. We’ll share it on our social media and our webpage. Everyone who shares their art will be entered into a drawing at the end of the year to win a free ticket to one of our fun 3-hour stained glass classes!

Crafting Workshops for Creative Souls

Have Fun with Your Inner Artist

Somewhere inside everyone is an Inner Artist waiting patiently for a chance to shine. Invite them out to play in this hands-on, two-hour creative experience from the EMOSY Community Arts Initiative at Tulsa Stained Glass. We’ll use a variety of fun and creative arts and craft techniques to help you notice your world, discover what matters to you, and turn those discoveries into meaningful works of art.

This is not about becoming a professional artist or putting pressure on yourself to be perfect.

It is about learning to see differently.

Your artwork might represent a person, place, memory, feeling, texture, color, shadow, object, experience, dream, or completely unexpected discovery.

You will explore why certain images attract your attention and how they can become the starting point for artwork with personal meaning.

No previous artistic or crafting experience is required.

Bring your curiosity and your willingness to make something meaningful, have fun and discover what your inner artist has been trying to show you.
