With school being out, we are getting complaints of e'bikes,scooters and off road moto bikes being ridden on village streets and sidewalks. Parents, know what you are buying for your kids and check the ages they have to be to ride these before making a purchase. Riders of these have to follow the rules of the road. We all want to ensure everyone stays safe. Know what's legal and what is not on public roadways.

🚨🔒 VEHICLE BURGLARY & MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT ALERT 🔒🚨

Over the last couple of weeks, Monroe County has seen an increase in vehicle burglaries and motor vehicle thefts. Recent incidents have impacted both the City of Waterloo and, most recently this morning, the City of Columbia.

Now is the time to remind everyone — DON’T make yourself an easy target for criminals.

✅ Remove valuables and fi****ms from your vehicles
✅ LOCK your vehicle doors
✅ Do not leave keys or key fobs inside vehicles
✅ Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
✅ Report suspicious activity immediately

Unfortunately, criminals often look for crimes of opportunity. A few simple steps can go a long way in preventing you from becoming the next victim.

📹 The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department also wants to remind citizens about our VOLUNTARY Camera Registration Program.

This program DOES NOT give investigators access to your camera systems. It simply allows investigators to know where cameras may be located throughout Monroe County to assist and expedite neighborhood canvasses during investigations.

Whether you live in the cities or in the unincorporated areas of Monroe County, we strongly encourage all residents and businesses with camera systems to register them with the Sheriff’s Department.

This program assists our investigators and can also assist local law enforcement agencies throughout Monroe County when requested.

Valmeyer Fire would like present to you our NEW Tanker! It takes a lot of training and dedication to be in the fire service along with the up keep of the fire house. These trucks we use are a big key to it all. We want to thank everyone that was involved in making this happen for our Department. Thank You! It will be in service in 6-8 weeks.
