Today, friends, family, and our brothers and sisters of the fire service laid to rest Past Chief of Department Timothy Laffin.

Chief, your mentorship and leadership will be dearly missed. We know you’ll be watching over us every time the fire whistle blows.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Chelsea Fire Company for surprising our members and assisting in getting our rig ready for the services of past Chief Laffin in the coming days. Their support is a true testament to the strength of the fire service brotherhood. It shows that mutual aid departments are there for more than just emergencies—they’re there for each other when it matters most.

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Past Chief of Department and Active/Life Member Tim Laffin.
Chief Laffin was a dedicated leader, a respected mentor, and a true brother to all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. His commitment to the department and the community will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends and also the Hughsonville Fire Department

Affected Area...Portions of the Upper Hudson Valley/Champlain FDRA including Warren, Saratoga, and Washington Counties, as well as portions of the Hudson Valley FDRA including eastern Montgomery, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, eastern Greene, Columbia, eastern Ulster, Dutchess, and Sullivan Counties.

* Timing...From noon to 6 PM today, with the lowest relative humidity values and highest wind gusts expected during the afternoon.

* Winds...South 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity...As low as 20 to 30 percent.

* Temperatures...In the upper 50s.

* Impacts...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
