Ever had a crush on someone you thought was completely out of your league? 👀

Well, someone might feel that way about YOU.

Here are 6 signs they may LIKE you but think you're OUT of their LEAGUE:

➡️ They seem confident with everyone except you.

They're relaxed and outgoing around other people, but suddenly become quiet, nervous, or unusually careful with their words when you're around.

➡️ They compliment you, then downplay themselves.

“You always look so put together. I could never pull that off.” They admire something about you while making a little joke at their own expense.

➡️ They act surprised when you show interest.

You flirt back or suggest getting together, and they seem genuinely caught off guard. Almost like they never considered you might feel the same way.

➡️ They assume you have plenty of options.

“You probably have people asking you out all the time.” They make little comments suggesting they think you're constantly getting attention.

➡️ They hesitate to make the first move.

They find reasons to talk to you and seem happy when you're around, but stop short of asking you out. They may be worried about rejection before they've even tried.

➡️ They become more confident when you encourage them.

You return a compliment, initiate a conversation, or suggest a date. Suddenly, they're more relaxed and willing to show their interest.

Of course, being nervous or insecure around someone doesn't automatically mean they're attracted to them.

But when someone consistently seeks you out, seems surprised by your attention, and becomes more comfortable when you show interest, attraction could be part of the reason.

And if you like them back? Give them a little encouragement.

They might be sitting there thinking they have absolutely no chance with you. 😂

Your Friends Might See What You're Ignoring

People who care about you may not always say it perfectly. But they usually can tell when you're not happy. When you're settling. When you're making excuses for someone who would never make those excuses for you.

So if your group chat hates the person you're dating, don't brush it off automatically.

Ask yourself: what are they seeing that I keep trying not to see?

→ Friends notice patterns you've gotten used to.

→ Settling often looks like comfort from the outside.

→ Excuses you make for someone else reveal what you're willing to accept.

→ Their concern isn't always about the person. Sometimes it's about how you look when you're around them.

Most people defend their relationships to the people who love them. That's understandable. But defensiveness shuts down the one perspective that might help you see clearly.

You don't have to take every opinion as a verdict. But you should take it as information.

Luma believes in relationships that hold up under honest outside perspective. Clarity comes from community, not just chemistry.

Listen to the people who know you best. Then look again at what you're excusing.

If I wanted to fall in LOVE before 2027, here's exactly what I'd do. ❤️

I've been a professional matchmaker for over 20 years, so I have a pretty good idea of where I'd start.

Here's what I'd do with the rest of 2026:

➡️ I'd tell people I'm single and looking.

Friends, coworkers, neighbors, even the person I always see at my favorite restaurant. People can't introduce you to someone if they don't know you're interested!

➡️ I'd stop texting for weeks without meeting.

If we hit it off, I'd suggest a date. Great chemistry over text doesn't always translate to real life, and I'd rather find that out sooner.

➡️ I'd give people outside my usual type a chance.

I'd still prioritize shared values and compatible lifestyles. But height, job titles, and having identical hobbies? I wouldn't let those eliminate someone great.

➡️ I'd actually make time for dating.

If every weekend is booked through New Year's, when exactly am I supposed to meet someone? A relationship needs room to develop.

And here's the part that might surprise you…

➡️I wouldn't spend the rest of 2026 trying to fall in love.

I'd spend it meeting people.

Going on dates. Having real conversations. Saying yes to introductions I might normally turn down.

Because falling in love isn't something you can schedule for December 31.

But putting yourself in a better position to meet someone?

That part is up to you. ❤️

Chemistry That Only Works When Life Is Easy

Real life is not just dinner dates and good banter.

It's busy schedules. Stress. Families. Work. Hard conversations. Disappointment. Change. The unglamorous parts of actually building a life with someone.

If someone only works when life is easy, that's not stability. That's chemistry with a short shelf life.

The spark matters. Chemistry matters. Of course it does. But the person you build with needs to be steady when life is not.

Here's the difference:

→ Easy chemistry breaks when life gets hard.

→ Real partnership holds when life gets hard.

→ Fun banter doesn't replace honest communication.

→ Attraction that disappears under stress isn't love.

Most people mistake the high of early chemistry for the foundation of a real relationship. They feel excited, so they assume the person is right for them. But excitement fades. Stress comes. Life changes. And if that person doesn't know how to handle hard, you're stuck with someone who only loved you when loving was easy.

The person you want doesn't just shine on date night. They show up on the day your mom gets sick. They stay when the job is demanding. They help when you're overwhelmed. They communicate when things are uncomfortable.

Luma matches people who can do both: feel the spark and handle the weight.

Choose someone steady. The spark will follow.

I think most of us are more comfortable being admired than being known.

I like being someone people can count on.

Someone who has the answers, gets things done, and seems to have everything under control.

And of course, it feels good when people see me that way.

But being known is a different story.

It's letting someone see you when you're frustrated over something small.

Admitting you don't have an answer.

Or telling someone you're struggling when they'd never guess it from the outside.

I think a lot of us have gotten so used to being the person everyone can count on that we don't quite know what to do when someone wants to take care of us for a change.

We brush it off.
Tell them we're fine.
Change the subject.

And then wonder why we're surrounded by people who think the world of us and still feel like nobody really knows us.

Being admired feels wonderful.

But there's something even better about having someone know you well enough that you don't always have to be impressive.

Liking Someone Isn't Enough

At some point, liking someone is not enough.

You can have chemistry with someone who makes your life harder. You can be attracted to someone who cannot communicate. You can have great conversations with someone who falls apart the second life gets stressful.

That's why the question can't just be: do I like them?

Of course that matters. But you also have to ask:

→ Can they handle conflict without shutting down?

→ Can they be honest when something is uncomfortable?

→ Can they respect a busy life without making it about them?

→ Can they make plans and actually follow through?

→ Can they support you without needing to become the center of everything?

Chemistry is the beginning. But chemistry with the wrong person is just distraction. It feels like passion when it's actually chaos.

Real compatibility is chemistry plus capacity. Chemistry plus communication. Chemistry plus stability. Chemistry plus follow-through.

The person who likes you but can't handle conflict will leave the second things get hard. The person who's attracted to you but can't communicate will leave you guessing. The person who connects with you but falls apart under stress will drain you.

You need someone who can do both: feel connected and handle reality.

Luma matches people who can do both. Who have chemistry and capacity. Who want you and can show up for you.

That's when liking someone becomes something real.

The Shame Isn't Proof You Shared Too Much

You know that sick feeling after you're honest with someone and they get weird?

Pay attention to that.

This happens after you open up to the wrong person. You tell them something real. Something you don't say out loud very often. At first it feels good. Maybe I can actually be honest here.

Then something shifts. They get distant. They make a joke. They change the subject. They act like you suddenly became too much.

Now you're replaying everything you said. Wondering why you said anything at all. That's a vulnerability hangover.

Here's what I want you to remember: sometimes the shame is not proof that you shared too much. Sometimes it's proof that the person in front of you didn't know how to hold it.

The right person does not make honesty feel embarrassing.

→ Vulnerability requires safety. If they don't provide safety, you'll feel shame.

→ The shame is their inability to handle your truth, not your inability to share it.

→ The right people make honesty feel relieving, not regrettable.

→ The wrong people make you want to take it back.

This is how you identify who deserves your real self. The people who make honesty feel like a burden are not your people. The people who make honesty feel like connection are.

Stop blaming yourself for the vulnerability hangover. Start noticing who creates it.

That's how you know who to trust.

“If they wanted to ask me out, they would.”

Well… what if they're waiting for YOU to ask? 👀

Here are 6 signs they may WANT you to make the first move but are afraid to ask:

➡️ They keep giving you opportunities to invite them somewhere.

They mention things they'd like to do and leave the conversation open, almost hoping you'll suggest doing them together.

➡️ They ask about your plans without making any of their own.

“What are you doing Friday?” You tell them you're free, and they seem interested, but never quite get around to asking you out.

➡️ They make it obvious they're single.

They casually mention that they're not seeing anyone or joke about how long it's been since their last date. They aren't necessarily announcing it to everyone.

➡️ They respond enthusiastically whenever YOU reach out.

You text first, and suddenly they're asking questions, making jokes, and keeping the conversation going. You suggest getting together, and they're immediately interested. They might hesitate to initiate, but they don't make you work for a response.

➡️ They bring up something you could do together, then wait for your reaction.

“You'd love this little coffee place I found.” They're floating the idea of spending time together without turning it into an actual date.

➡️ They get bolder when you give them a little encouragement.

You compliment them, flirt back, or suggest spending time together. Suddenly, they're more playful, more direct, and more comfortable showing their interest.

Of course, none of these signs guarantees someone is attracted to you.

The important part is what happens when you give them an opening.

Be honest… have you ever wanted someone to ask you out but were too nervous to make the first move yourself? 😂👇

Grand Gestures Impress. Small Details Matter.

We give grand gestures too much credit. Not because they're bad. A beautiful dinner. Flowers. A trip. Those can be lovely.

But sometimes the thing that tells you the most is much smaller than that.

It's someone remembering how you take your coffee. Sending you the song they said reminded them of you. Checking in the day before they knew you were nervous about something. Picking the restaurant with the food you actually like. Noticing the tiny thing you mentioned once and bringing it back up later.

That's what makes it personal.

Grand gestures show effort. Small gestures show attention. Grand gestures impress an audience. Small gestures prove you're actually being heard.

→ Grand gestures are about performance.

→ Small gestures are about presence.

→ Grand gestures show you care. Small gestures show you're paying attention.

→ Grand gestures can be for anyone. Small gestures are specifically for you.

The person who remembers how you take your coffee cares more than the person who books an expensive restaurant and gets your order wrong. The person who notices you mentioned something once cares more than the person who shows up with flowers they picked at random.

Intimacy isn't built through grand moments. It's built through accumulated small moments. Through being seen. Through being known. Through someone proving they actually listen.

Luma matches people who understand this. Who build connection through attention, not gestures. Who show up present instead of impressive.

That's real connection.
