EQ tips for a funk-style bass player. Slight cut around 100Hz, 6dB cut near 250Hz. Clears up mud, but counter-intuitive. 3dB boost around 1kHz for attack, and a 6dB boost around 4kHz for the “slap” string noise.

Too much low end of this style will sound incredibly muddy. Find the sweet spot of the boost to get the most clarity.
