This weekend, we bottled our 2025 Dry Riesling at Ria’s Wines, which is where we’re operating our wine production under an AP agreement.

The best part was having friends there to help us bottle our very first wine.

Next up: our 2025 Dry Rosé of Cabernet Franc later this week.

Our first wine label is official!

The label for our 2025 Dry Riesling has received federal approval. It features a watercolor by our daughter, Talia, inspired by a sunset over Cayuga Lake. The sailboat is a small nod to the story behind the Navinnus name.

The follow-up we promised: The Cayuga Lake bathroom that started as a plumbing repair is now finished, decorated, and finally feels like home.

Next to it, the downstairs bedroom got a full rebuild and came out the other side as a bunk room with a little bit of everything: papasan chairs, a wine label cork board, and pillows that fit the mood.

Over the weekend, we sampled both wines. Fermentation is done, the lees have settled, and the colors are beautiful.

On the palate, the Dry Riesling has flavors of nectarine, lemon, honeysuckle and slate. The Dry Rosé shows strawberry, peach, rose and wet stone.

Next step: racking and then bottling the wines once the labels receive COLA approval.

This is our ’25 dry Riesling, resting in tank and waiting for the next step: racking.

Racking moves wine off the sediment left behind from fermentation, using nothing more than a hose and a pump. It looks simple, but it is one of the last steps before a wine is ready for a bottle.

Meanwhile, the regulatory hurdles are being cleared and we’re closer to selling our wine than ever before!
