What the mapping center sees vs. what the agronomist sees.
Take a walk with FieldReveal mobile this growing season to better understand what the zones mean for crop production and decision making.
In this field we start in Zone 11, which is the green area on the map indicating a high yield potential area. Since no yield data was available for this field, our mapping center looked at several years of satellite imagery to identify yield potential across the field. The corn is thick, green, and tall. As we move through the field we get into the yellow area on the map which is a Zone 3, or depressional, low sloping area. This area tends to stay wet longer and the corn is shorter, lighter colored and doesn’t appear to have the same vigor.
Can you spot the differences?
