With school officially in session, we want to remind everyone that the safety of our children is a top priority! Please stay alert and slow down when driving near students walking, biking, or crossing streets on their way to and from school.

Make sure you:
✅ Stop at all marked crosswalks
✅ Watch for students near schools and neighborhoods
✅ Give yourself extra time and avoid distractions while driving

School Bus Safety Reminders:
🟡 If you see a school bus with flashing red or amber lights, slow down and be ready to stop. Do not pass the bus.
🛑 When the bus stops and the stop arm comes out, stop behind the bus.
↔️ Stay at least 15 feet behind the bus and remain stopped until the stop arm is put away and the bus begins moving again. Then continue driving carefully.

West Liberty State Bank is happy to announce we have renewed the Everfi Financial Literacy Program for the 10th year in a row for the 2026-2027 academic year for West Liberty Schools. This program helps to meet the financial literacy curriculum required by the State of Iowa. This program is an engaging online resource that uses video, animation, and interactive activities to bring financial concepts to life. The platform contains nine modules covering topics such as savings, banking, credit cards and interest rates, credit score, financing higher education, renting vs. owning and other topics. Learning about financial literacy in high school helps to set students up for success as they navigate into adult responsibilities.
