Who should be the 12 College Football Playoff lteams?

Mine:

1. Indiana Football
2. Georgia Football
3. Ohio State Football
4. Texas Tech Football
5. Oregon Football
6. Ole Miss Football
7. Texas A&M Football
8. Oklahoma Football
9. Notre Dame
10. Miami Hurricanes
11. JMU
12. Tulane

*Sorry Duke, 5 losses is just a bridge too far.

12/07/2025

College Football Playoff Committee, it's should not be that complicated. No 3 loss team gets in, and if Duke University win tonight, it's between Duke and the JMU Football Dukes for the last spot. Because American Athletic Conference Champion Tulane Football gets in.

12/04/2025

The Atlantic Coast Conference should go after adding Army West Point Football, United States Naval Academy, Tulane Football, and USF Football, and rebrand as Atlantic & Gulf Coast Conference...

Along with changing their ridiculous tiebreaker for the championship game.

ROUTE 1'S TO WATCH...
Conference Championships Weekend

Yes, watch as many as you can, as something of value to play for in each. But these five have some extra compelling storylines.

1. The American Athletic Conference Championship almost certainly will decide the Group of 5 representative. The powers that be want the Green Wave, but the Mean Green won't go quietly.

2. The Big 12 Conference Championship could create wrinkles in press narratives around the College Football Playoff, with the Red Raiders, Cougars, AND Hurricanes all possibly being in play.

3. The Southeastern Conference Championship is almost always competitive, and this one will be no different with so much potentially on the line, for both the Crimson Tide AND Hurricanes.

4. Who is the final undefeated D-1 team in the country and presumptive #1 Seed in this season's CFP? The Big Ten Conference Championship will decide that, but not much more.

5. For a conference full of "smart" schools, the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship match-up is stunningly stupid. So should we join them on the insane crazy train and root for a 5 loss team in the CFP? I just can't...

What say you, Stephen Elmo Weeks?

While "This Weeks' Top 12", is on hiatus for a few...well, weeks, here is the most recent reshuffeling after the Longhorns takedown of the Aggies. Let's get into this...

1. Ohio State
Impressive takedown of their biggest rivals. Now we get to see which team from the Big10 really get the "only undefeated" crown this coming Saturday.

2. Indiana University
It was a very stinky PU team they dominated, but such is the way of rivalry games some seasons.

3. Georgia
The final score wasn't really the best indicator of Dawgs dominance. Many will be rooting for UGA in SEC Championship, but maybe none moreso than Canes Football.

4. Oregon
U-Dub is legit, especially at home. Ducks still miss conference championship, but not the College Football Playoff.

5. Ole Miss
Solid win over in-state rivals, unfortunately somewhat soiled by Lane Kiffin acting like a little kid.

6. Texas Tech
Unsurprisingly won, but wow did they smash the Mountaineers. Favorites to do similar against Cougars of Utah.

7. Texas A&M
Sometimes the mental game is much harder than the physical. Matt Mitchell has been having fun with the delicate nature of A&M's undefeated season for weeks now, and the loss finally came to pass.

8. BYU
Not a great win over UCF, but now they get a chance to put up or shut up against Texas Tech in Big 12 Championship.

9. Oklahoma
Beat LSU, whatever. Now on to the CFP.

10. Notre Dame
Beating Stanford means nothing. Rather have Irish in CFP than most other 2 loss teams and all 3 loss teams.

11. James Madison
Beating Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina wasn't nothing, but then beating Troy in its Sun Belt Conference Championship won't be enough for CFP.

12. North Texas
Expected final win, the Mean Green now prepare for a visit to Tulane, most likely to decide the Group of 5 representative in CFP.

Final thought, if a 5 loss team plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship over a 2 loss team, there is something deeply flawed with their system...

While we wait for "This Weeks' Top 12", here is my go at it after the Yellow Jackets got Ramblin' Wrecked by some ornery Pitt Panthers. There is some reshuffeling based on quality of wins and byes as well. Rivalry Weekend awaits, with many College Football Playoff potential issues. Let's get into this...

1. Ohio State
Continue to roll as the prepare for their arch nemesis, in Michigan.

2. Texas A&M
Samford win. Meanwhile, Texas is more than decent and more than ready for the upset this rivalry weekend In Austin.

3. Indiana University
Bye weekend to get ready for...checks notes...Purdue.🤦🏼‍♂️

4. Georgia
Cupcake win before main course of Georgia Tech in the Benz on Friday. Won't be a cake walk.

5. Oregon
Quality win over USC. U-Dub will be looking to upset the Oregon apple cart in Washington for their upcoming rivalry.

6. Ole Miss
Bye. The cowbell will be extra loud and obnoxious this day after Thanksgiving in Starkville, as this game means everything to State, and they will want to send a message to Lane Kiffin as he heads to Baton Rouge and the Head Coach position for LSU.

7. Texas Tech
Bye. Need a better rivalry weekend opponent than West Virginia.

8. BYU
Very good win over tough Cincy team in Ohio. Ready for "rivalry" game against UCF...🤷🏼‍♂️

9. Oklahoma
Mizzou is tough. That was a solid "W." Doubt currently rudderless LSU is ready for that Sooner smoke this Saturday.

10. Notre Dame
Stop! Stop! Syracuse is dead already!! Stanford is actually looking a bit more competitive to close the season. But not competitive enough to trouble the Irish much.

11. James Madison
Tough comeback win for JMU over Washington State. Shows character for program on the rise. The Chanticleers will be ready to ruin the dream near "Dirtle Myrtle" Beach.

12. North Texas
Rice could have been troublesome, but the Mean Green continued to cook. Temple next before conference championship.

Getting near crunch time for conference championships and national championship playoffs...

"ROUTE 1'S TO WATCH" THIS SATURDAY...
The College Football Playoff 12 come even more into focus. (For entertainment value, Friday's Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Football v. UNLV Football will be quite the value.)

11/16/2025

While we wait for "This Weeks' Top 12" to figure out how to drop 'Bama from its rankings, here is my go at it after a pretty wild Saturday for several teams in the running...

1. Ohio State
Dominant. Michigan at the Big House and conference championship only competition left.

2. Indiana University
Eyes on the conference championship prize, as Purdue are pee-yoo.

3. Texas A&M
Called in Texas' finest for intimidation and to steal an undefeated season saving win. A tune-up for the 2nd string is next before Texas.

4. Georgia
Statement win against Longhorns.

5. Oregon
After mid-season hiccup, Ducks seem to be figuring things out after dismantling Minnesota.

6. Ole Miss
Darn near an "ol-slipp" against Gators, but they got it done.

7. Texaa Tech
Look ready for their College Football Playoff close-up after shellacing UCF.

8. Georgia Tech
Hardly a confidence-building last seconds' win against one win BC, but at least they played.

9. BYU
Prime opportunity to jump the Ramblin' Wreck wasted "bye" not playing.

10. Oklahoma
Had the highest quality win of the weekend, so leads all two loss teams in the chaos starting with two or more loss teams.

11. North Texas
Mean & Green, but not out of the AAC woods just yet, with two .500 conference teams waiting.

12. James Madison
The Dukes get probably their toughest test of the season when PAC-10 Regular Season Champs, Washington State Cougars, come for a visit.
