Percussive drilling services support the daily work that keeps underground mines moving.

Boart Longyear’s percussive drilling services include cable bolt drilling, long-hole drill and blast, slot and inverse raises, and other methods matched to site requirements.

On the cable bolt side, Boart Longyear can provide both drilling and bolt installation, giving sites the operational benefit of working with a single contractor for connected scopes of work.

Last week, David Quail, VP of Rock Tools, visited the team in Chile.

The open discussion gave a much clearer picture of both the opportunities and the challenges in the Chilean market. What stood out most was the scale of what's in front of us – and how well positioned our consolidated Wuxi operation is to help us capture it.

DEWATERING: KEEPING MINES MOVING SAFELY

Boart Longyear’s dewatering services support mine sites through straight holes, casing, pumps, and horizontal drains matched to site conditions.

One example is Boart Longyear Drilling Services’ exclusive LR™90H Horizontal Drilling Rig for mine dewatering. The LR™90H is FOPS Level II certified, drills at a 5-degree angle for self-draining dewatering directly against a high-wall face, and offers completely hands-free rod handling.

The rig can drill 152 to 182 meters in a shift, supporting water control, high-wall stability, and continued progress in active mining environments.

One of the largest copper projects in the United States just moved forward, and Boart Longyear rigs are on the ground doing the work.
