A retirement account balance is only the starting point. 💰

The next question is how that balance fits into real life.

For example, two people could both have the same amount saved and still need very different retirement income plans.

One may still have a mortgage. 🏠

One may be retiring before Medicare begins. 🩺

One may want to travel more in the early years of retirement. ✈️

One may be helping adult children or grandchildren. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

One may have a pension, rental income, or a spouse who is still working. 📊

Same savings number.

Very different income picture.

That is why retirement planning should not stop at:

“How much have I saved?”

It should also ask:

“How much income will I need each month?”

“Where will that income come from?”

“How will taxes affect it?” 🧾

“What happens if markets are down when I need withdrawals?” 📉

“How long does the money need to last?” ⏳

The goal is not just to reach a number.

The goal is to understand how that number can support the retirement you actually want to live. ✅

Your retirement number matters.

But your retirement paycheck matters more.

A portfolio balance can look strong on paper, but retirement is lived month by month: housing, health care, groceries, taxes, travel, and family support.

Before you choose a retirement date, ask a better question:

“What income will my savings actually create?”

That is where retirement planning becomes real.

If retirement is within the next 5–10 years, this is a conversation worth having before you make the leap.

That’s why events like ACVB League Community Day matter 🙌🏽

Had the opportunity to speak with teens about money 💵, credit 💳, building wealth 📈, and making smart decisions early in life.

The best part? Watching young people actually engage, ask questions 🤔, and realize they CAN create a different future for themselves 🌟

Also grateful for the chance to connect with so many leaders in the community 🤝— including a great conversation with the Mayor 🏛️ about creating more opportunities and education for the next generation.

Real impact starts long before retirement planning. It starts with knowledge 🧠

If we can teach financial literacy early, we can change entire family legacies 💯🔥

Most people don’t realize how easy it is to quit this business.

Nearly 90% of advisors don’t make it past five years. I started two months before the world shut down, built through uncertainty, and watched a lot of talented people walk away. 📉

There were moments where it would’ve been easier to do the same.

But I stayed. 💪

Not because it was easy—but because I started to see the impact. The conversations that mattered. The families who depended on the guidance. The responsibility that comes with doing this work the right way.

Five years in, it’s no longer about “making it.”

It’s about who you become by refusing to leave when it gets hard.

I believe longevity in this business isn’t talent—it’s a decision made over and over again. 🔁
