SHIPPINGInsight PROJECT 2027: Catalyzing the U.S. Maritime Industry into Action brings together leaders from government, shipping, ports, shipbuilding, energy, workforce development, finance and technology for two days focused on moving U.S. maritime from conversation to action.

The conversation begins with Congressman Randy Weber, TX-14 and Mark Johnson, US Maritime Deputy Administrator, followed by David Walker of ABS and Sang Yi of AAPA on the national maritime landscape and the role of industry and ports.

From there, industry leaders tackle the challenges ahead:

Creating demand for U.S.-flag shipping: Dr. Beatriz Canamary, Vincent DiCosimo, Patrice Broussard, Randy Giveans and Rey Trevino III.

SHIPPINGInsight 2026: Leadership for the Next Phase of U.S. Maritime

SHIPPINGInsight is pleased to announce that Christopher Wiernicki, former Chairman and CEO of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), has been named Chairman of the SHIPPINGInsight Leadership Roundtable, an invitation-only forum bringing senior maritime leaders together to continue the conversation around the future of the U.S. maritime industry.

Taking place October 14 in Houston, Texas, the Leadership Roundtable is part of SHIPPINGInsight PROJECT 2027: Catalyzing the U.S. Maritime Industry into Action. Following the October 13 program, the Roundtable will bring together leaders across shipping, ports, shipbuilding, technology, energy, workforce development, finance, and government to examine key challenges and identify areas for meaningful industry engagement.

With extensive experience spanning classification, shipping, technology, academia, and corporate governance, Professor Wiernicki will guide focused discussions designed to build on the priorities raised during PROJECT 2027 and move the conversation toward action.

The work of the Conference and Leadership Roundtable will contribute to a document capturing industry's perspective on what needs to happen next to revitalize the U.S. maritime industry.

Innovation took center stage at Posidonia 2026.

As the finale to the 5th "Trading in U.S. Waters" conference, SHIPPINGInsight’s SHARK TANK brought together maritime leaders, investors, shipowners, and technology innovators for a live showcase of solutions designed to tackle some of shipping’s biggest challenges.

Six emerging companies pitched technologies focused on artificial intelligence, vessel performance, operational efficiency, autonomous systems, and emissions reduction before an esteemed panel of judges representing some of the industry's most influential organizations.

Congratulations to Carbon Ridge and Anastasija Kuprijanova, recipient of the 2026 SHIPPINGInsight Posidonia Innovation Award, for their innovative onboard carbon capture and storage technology.

The discussions made one thing clear: innovation is no longer a future concept for shipping. It is happening now, and the next generation of maritime solutions is already shaping the industry's path forward.
