Yesterday, we marked the 10th anniversary of the Gig East Summit with our largest Summit yet in the beautiful Wilson ballpark.

You may not realize that before the Gig East Exchange, the Gig East Source, or any of our programming or events existed, Gig East began with the Gig East Summit.

The first Summit was held in 2016 at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center as an effort from the City of Wilson to encourage conversation focused on technology innovation and economic development supported by Wilson's gigabit infrastructure.

Those conversations bloomed into the active, vibrant ecosystem that is the Gig East we know today. We're grateful to all who joined us for our 10th anniversary event, whether as a speaker, supporter, or attendee. We're especially thankful to our sponsors, Wilson Warbirds, and our incredible staff for making it all possible.

This is only the beginning. We hope you continue with us on this journey through the next 10 years and beyond.

We are excited and honored to announce our 2026 Gig East Summit keynote speakers!

Both Patrick and Scott have been instrumental in shaping North Carolina’s innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development landscape. As long-time collaborators and champions of Gig East and the City of Wilson, NC - Government community, their leadership and partnership have helped strengthen the ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs, businesses, and rural communities across our state. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Gig East Summit stage as we celebrate a decade of impact and look toward the future of innovation in Eastern North Carolina.

Our Pumpkin Social was a smashing success thanks to Bunn Family Farms!

This year, we were excited to welcome Derrick, an eighth-generation farmer, who shared how his family farm prepares for each season. The best thing we learned? Support local farmers, through every season.

Our members & Wilson community also had the opportunity to paint their own pumpkin to be displayed outside the Exchange!
