The Cidery…
Winterset Cidery is nestled in the rolling hills of Madison County, Iowa, approximately 30 minutes southwest of Des Moines. This area also lists the famed “Covered Bridges of Madison County,” as well as the new $2 million+ John Wayne Museum among its attractions, along with several historical sites, wineries, museums, and other things to do and see. The Cidery is the first of its kind

in Iowa built in a post and beam “glorified barn” adjacent to an apple orchard with over 30 varieties of heirloom, cider, and dessert apple trees. The spacious tasting room at the Cidery is comfortable and informal with vaulted ceilings and wood floors, or you might enjoy the view of the orchard and country side from the roomy outside deck. It’s the perfect location to enjoy a taste of the heartland with a few of your friends or in larger groups for gatherings or events. Our hard ciders…
Come enjoy a taste of the heartland at Winterset Cidery! Our ciders rely only on the apples themselves; we do not add any sugar or water like many mass produced hard ciders. Until our own orchard matures, we are buying fresh pressed apple juice from area orchards here in the Midwest. After fermentation our ciders are aged several months before we serve them to bring out the best flavors possible, never rushed or mass produced. When we do add other flavors, like raspberry, hops, cherry, and others, we use real ingredients, and we blend them on a very small batch basis to better control the flavor of the cider. We never use artificial flavors or ingredients. Come enjoy a taste of the heartland. HOURS

We have another great addition to our 10 Year Anniversary Celebration this Saturday! 🎉

We’ll have live music by Neva Alden Music from 5-7pm, delicious food by Graziano Bros. Sausage Mobile, cold cider flowing, and plenty of fun celebrating 10 amazing years with all of you.

Come out around 4pm for the anniversary celebrations, stay for the music, food, and good vibes all evening long!

Calling all vendors!

Vendor applications are now OPEN for the Madison County Fall Crawl happening Sunday, September 27, 2026 in beautiful Winterset, Iowa!

The Fall Crawl is one of Madison County’s favorite fall traditions and such a fun day of shopping, sipping, exploring, and supporting local small businesses. Vendors will be spread throughout participating Fall Crawl locations across the county.

If you’d like to be part of the fun, be sure to fill out the application for the specific location where you’d like to set up. (Please note: some locations do not host vendors.)

Vendor spots are currently $45, but pricing increases to $55 beginning June 1, so don’t wait too long to snag your spot!

We are open today from 1–5pm!!

Bring your family out for a cold, crisp glass of cider or a refreshing and fun dirty soda for the kids. You’re welcome to bring any outside food with you, but just a reminder — no outside beverages allowed.

Dogs are welcome too! Please keep them leashed and outside the building.

Be sure to say hi to Gina, Cathy, and Sophie while you stop by. We can’t wait to see you at Winterset Cidery!
