Some of the most interesting manufacturing happens where there isn’t an off-the-shelf solution.

That was clear during Phil and Maribeth's recent BizConnects visit to Fast Forming in Rittman. Accompanied by our partners from Team NEO and the City of Rittman, WEDC learned about Fast Forming's specialization in thermoforming and engineered plastic solutions, helping customers turn unique ideas and challenging applications into finished products.

As customer demand for Fast Forming's specialized expertise increases, the company has begun to explore an expansion of its Rittman operation that could add manufacturing capacity, support new products and create additional jobs.

Seaman Corporation has been manufacturing high-performance coated fabrics used from roofing to water management for over 40 years.

This year, the company celebrated another investment: the completion of a 10,200-square-foot expansion of its Wooster headquarters.

The project increased office capacity by 30% and supports the creation of more than 50 jobs, and Seaman didn't just build the expansion, the new space showcases products manufactured by the company!

We're glad to celebrate Manufacturing Month with companies like Seaman Corporation that continue to invest in innovation, their people, and the future of manufacturing right here in Ohio.

Milk straight from the farm next door into the processing plant. That’s the vision behind Country Creamery.

For our latest BizConnects visit, Phil, along with our partners at JobsOhio and Team NEO, got a look at Country Creamery Farm new 10-acre property, where dairy processing, retail, distribution, and education are coming together with a distinctly local focus.

The project builds on the 15-year legacy of Buckeye Country Creamery, and the team is further developing the vision to become a place where locally produced milk, ice cream, butter, and eventually cheese can go from farm to consumer, creating a unique farm-to-table model right here in our community.

The future of manufacturing is here, and it's moving fast.

We had an amazing time attending and presenting on the state of manufacturing in Wayne County at Rea's Manufacturing Education Day in Wooster.

Connecting with other industry leaders and learning about everything from AI integration to the latest workforce strategies made this visit extremely valuable.

Could something your company already does open the door to the aerospace and defense industry? Join us October 20 for WEDC’s next Briefings for Business, as we explore opportunities in Ohio’s growing aerospace and defense sector, and how Wayne County companies can become part of it.

Some already are. In Orrville, Moog designs, machines, assembles, and tests hydraulic actuators supplied to the U.S. Navy for submarines and surface ships.

It’s a great example of how the advanced manufacturing capabilities found right here in Wayne County are already supporting the defense industry.

The Wayne County Farm Tour is coming up October 10–11!

This annual event gives visitors a behind-the-scenes look at Wayne County agriculture, with stops highlighting local farms, crop operations, orchards and agribusinesses, including Centerra Co-op’s Sterling Feed Mill.

Hosted by the Wayne County Farm Bureau, the Farm Tour is a free, drive-it-yourself event featuring tours, activities and local food along the way.

This unique experience brings students, educators, and local industry leaders together to help students discover career opportunities available to them.

The WEDC enjoyed joining the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce for Beyond Business: Celebrating 175 Years of The Wooster Brush Company.

We’ve had the opportunity to tour Wooster Brush before, but somehow we always walk away having learned something new. It was a great evening of touring, networking, and celebrating an incredible milestone for one of Wayne County’s most iconic manufacturers.

Congratulations to The Wooster Brush Company on 175 years of manufacturing, innovation, and investment in Wayne County. What an incredible legacy, and one well worth celebrating!
