Not All Breathing Air Suppliers Are Equal. Here’s What to Compare.
When breathing air is part of the safety plan, price should never be the only deciding factor.
For oil and gas, industrial, offshore, and other hazardous operations, choosing a breathing air supplier means looking at the entire support system behind the equipment.
Before selecting a supplier, compare:
✓ Breathing Air Quality — Does the supplied compressed breathing air meet applicable OSHA Grade D requirements?
✓ Documentation — Can the supplier provide the required Certificate of Analysis for purchased breathing-air cylinders?
✓ Equipment Availability — Can they provide cylinders, SCBAs, escape packs, breathing air trailers, regulators, manifolds, and related equipment your scope requires?
✓ Inspection & Maintenance — How is equipment inspected, maintained, documented, and removed from service when deficiencies are identified?
✓ Response Time — When a project changes or equipment is needed quickly, how fast can the supplier respond?
✓ Field Knowledge — Does the provider understand the realities of oil and gas operations, remote locations, offshore work, turnarounds, and hazardous environments?
✓ Technical Support — If something changes in the field, are you simply renting equipment—or do you have a knowledgeable team behind it?
