It's National Forest Products Week!

This week, we're celebrating the products that come from America's sustainably managed forests – from packaging to long-lived wood products that lock away carbon for years. These products do more than make our lives better. They keep working forests on the landscape, so they can keep growing and delivering clean air, clean water, and wildlife habitat.

None of this happens without dedicated people behind the scenes: the foresters, landowners, and experts who manage these forests sustainably, generation after generation. This week, we celebrate them too.

We manage forests for the long term. That means keeping forests healthy, productive, and resilient in the face of wildfire, drought, insects, and disease.

But responsible forest management also produces low-value wood, thinnings, slash, chips, bark, and other residuals that need a productive use.

When markets exist for those materials, more forest health work becomes economically achievable. Strong markets help us reduce hazardous fuels, support rural jobs, and keep working forests healthy for the next generation.
