Abundant forests don’t happen by accident. They are planted, grown, and managed over time.

Here at Rayonier, we manage our forests with the future in mind, supporting healthy trees, resilient landscapes, and a renewable wood supply people rely on every day.

More than one third of the U.S. is covered in trees, and sustainable forest management helps ensure that forests remain part of America’s economic and environmental strength.

Clean water depends on healthy forests.🌲Sustainable forestry plays a vital role in watershed protection by acting as a natural filtration system for the environment. By maintaining wide buffers along rivers and streams, we ensure our working forests continue to filter, cool, and protect the water that local communities and wildlife rely on every day.

Did you know?🌲Our forests grow more than trees; they grow opportunities.

Private working forests support rural prosperity. They also support 3.9 million jobs and provide $284 billion in wages across rural America. These forests help sustain the communities that depend on them.

We're proud to support the Wildlife Resources Division - Georgia DNR and their vital emergency response work. After major weather events, their crews are often the first on the ground to restore safety and access, and we are grateful for the critical work they do to help our communities recover.

Rayonier’s own Kit Hart shares how we manage working forests for a sustainable future.

Maintaining a healthy forest is a continuous cycle of planning, planting, harvesting, and replanting. By always putting more back into the land than we take out, we help ensure these forests continue to provide clean air, wildlife habitat, and renewable resources.

The best views in the forest are often right at your feet. 🌸

Our timberlands are home to diverse native flora that thrive in the light and soil conditions of managed forests. These spring blooms are one beautiful example of the biodiversity that supports a healthy, balanced ecosystem.

Rayonier is proud to be part of the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO), whose members plant more than 400 million seedlings nationwide each year.

By planting one tree seedling per minute around the clock without taking a break, it would take you over 700 years to plant what NAFO members plant in one year. If you’d prefer to finish up today, you would have needed to start planting in 1302, about 100 years before the printing press was invented.

Spring is a peak time for wildlife activity on our lands. From gopher tortoises emerging from their burrows to the nesting season of the red-cockaded woodpecker, our woods are teeming with life.

Sustainably managing a forest means protecting an entire ecosystem. Through careful management, we help ensure these protected species have the habitat they need to thrive alongside our working timberlands.
