🎾 COACH MEHDI IS TRAVELING TO ROME!

Ok ok, Rome, GA 😉

Mehdi was invited to coach TEAM USTA South Carolina at the 2026 Southern Ozaki Junior Cup, alongside some great coaches from across the South. He’s super excited and honored. Pretty special few days ahead.

So what exactly is the Ozaki Cup?

It’s similar to a college tennis atmosphere for some of the South’s top juniors. Nine states are represented. Boys and girls 12s through 18s. Singles, doubles and mixed doubles, all competing as a TEAM and representing their state. It’s high-level competitive tennis, but more importantly a whole lot of teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership and developing young players beyond just their game.

‼️EXCITING NEWS! ‼️We are putting together our first-ever JTT squad. 🎾🎉

Junior Team Tennis is essentially league tennis for kids. A huge win for Legend Oaks Golf & Tennis Club as it has taken a year since we began our Orange Ball beginner class to graduate players into our Orange Ball TEAM program.
These players are ages 8-11 and are READY to play matches against other clubs. Matches will take place on Sunday afternoons.

✅ Parents, please check your email, for JTT to succeed, we’ll need a parent volunteer to be the Team Liason! 🙌🏼🎾

Outside coaches may not use The Hawk’s Nest or Spell Park courts for paid instruction/teaching. “PLAY YOUR COURT, MY TENNIS LESSON”, any of these outside apps do not have a contract with the City/Recreation Department and are not authorized to provide services. All coaches will be authorized through Karevoyance Racquet Sports, the tennis operators for these facilities.

We want the community to understand we are entrusted by The City to maintain safety, accountability, and the integrity of the programs we provide.

✅ If you are a coach interested in teaching? We’d actually love to hear from you. We always have opportunities to join our coaching staff.

It’s never easy to call off an event, we hate the word cancel, hence why we’ve rescheduled this one three times.

Socials have a lot of moving parts; coaches, food, drinks, travel, prep, AND respect for YOUR time. We made the call to not high jack your Saturday evening since we have a 70% chance of precipitation

The good news? There’s still some amazing tennis to WATCH. US Open Tennis Championships Women’s Final is today at 4 PM and the Men’s Final is tomorrow, time tbd🎾
