The Annual UCT Open Day took place
Saturday, 25 April 2026, which is aimed at high school learners in Grades 10, 11 and 12, their families and teachers.

The day presented ideal opportunities to explore the vast range of undergraduate study options on offer at UCT.

Future learners were able to obtain information about the different academic programmes and what they involve, that is absolutely vital to making the best study choices.

The Ripple Effect Gathering, presented by Protect the West Coast (PTWC) is taking place in Langebaan today, Saturday 14 March at the Langebaan Town Hall.

As a positive and celebratory forum for stakeholders, communities and residents of the West Coast, the event explores and presents alternative economic solutions to a coastline facing increasing cumulative pressure from mining companies. As a platform for attendees, the event provides a mechanism whereby people from different industries, governnmental bodies, activist entities, para-statal groups, officials and other key stakeholders can network, share ideas and present solutions.

PTWC hopes that the Ripple Effect Gathering will be the genesis of a fresh source of energy from which ripples of change and positive energy can spread across the West Coast to repair the physical and cultural damage caused by excessive, unfettered and often illegal mineral exploitation.
