We house local businesses, nurture entrepreneurs, develop skills and support job creation. Philippi Village is an old cement factory that has been converted into a business and community hub located in one of Cape Town’s most neglected townships, Philippi. We are a space that houses local township businesses, nurtures entrepreneurs, skills development centres and supports job creation. We are also

a space for fun, sports, arts, education and recreation activities for local residents

On our ground floor we have: A Coffee Shop space, meeting area, kids gaming space and the City of Cape Town’s main Crossroads Library. At the very front of our yard you will further find a Container walk with 110 shipping containers that have been repurposed into offices; workspaces and storage. We also have workspace hubs that can be taken up by 70+ businesses for rental. These spaces are ideal for offices, workshops, and conferences. Box office hits have been filmed here at Philippi Village. Think Maze Runner and Resident Evil. Talk to us about our various filming site packages. We further have a conference room that can take up to 120 people, boardrooms (8-16 people each) and a beautiful Amphitheatre for live music, performances and variety of events.

This Women’s Month, we’re creating more spaces for women to learn, lead and thrive.

In partnership with Black Flip Studios, Philippi Village is proud to open applications for our Female DJ Workshop. This initiative is about more than learning to mix music. It’s about empowering women with new skills, building confidence and creating opportunities to express themselves in the creative industry.

If you’ve ever dreamed of getting behind the decks, this is your chance to take the first step.

At Philippi Village, we believe every community deserves to tell its own story.

Our MOJO team was proud to facilitate a Narrative Justice session at Bertha Retreat, equipping young activists with the tools to tell their stories in their own authentic voices. By challenging one-dimensional narratives, we’re creating space for stories of resilience, creativity, leadership and hope.

In celebration of Mandela Day, the Philippi Village team embraced the spirit of reciprocity by dedicating our 67 minutes of service to making a meaningful impact at Sizakuyenza Shelter for Women and Children, based at Cesvi.

Together, we planted a food garden to help provide the shelter’s kitchen with fresh, organic produce, landscaped the surroundings, and cleaned the children’s playground to create a more welcoming space for the families they serve.

Mandela Day reminds us that lasting change begins with small acts of service. By working together, we continue to show that it truly takes a Village to build stronger, more caring communities.
