The Wellness & Restoration Arc
Throwback to when exhaustion wore the face of discipline.

Every weekend. A 2-year-old on the sidelines. (See if you can spot him on the back left wearing a black jumpsuit)
A full-time head of fashion design. And a Shaolin centre that quietly consumed us.

This was me at the Chinese school in Mowbray, Cape Town. What burnout looks like when it’s in full swing.

Shaolin intensity doesn’t just “push through” a woman’s body. It demands conservation. Adaptation. Recovery.

I learned that the hard way.

But traditional Shaolin never promised destruction without restoration.

Hidden in every form was a legacy system: healing, nervous system regulation, strategic recovery.
The kind of knowledge that takes years of daily commitment to master… and isn’t taught in today’s quick-fix culture.

We built **1MindBodyFitness** on something slower. Something deeper.

Not just technique. A return to the body’s natural rhythm.

🔹 If you’re tired of training that leaves you depleted…
Our online courses aren’t workouts. They’re legacy restoration.

Built from decades of personal practice, teaching, and women’s wellness methodology.

Me in my early 20's before kids, doing an exhibition of Shaolin Kung Fu, the 12 Tan Tui Spring Leg routine, at Kenilworth Centre. Yes, I was skinny and "healthy" training in a man's world and working as a textile design apprentice in the Fashion industry.

One character trait was being driven, and motivated to be an achiever with nothing that could stop me let alone stand in my way.

Today I can say looking back at a journey spent training in various aspects of sport, I wish I knew the female dynamics and consequences of my "healthy" regimes.

How my world would have unfolded if a fellow martial arts women, who also had kids, gave birth naturally, raised kids without much support, who worked as a full time career women, who also helped her husband setup and run not one, but two businesses, managed being secretary general to the Kung Fu Federation of SA, arrange events, as well as freelance while raising kids and managing a family. And... training without compromising her wellbeing.

Looking back without regrets, it was truly a fun filled adventure. Now I have the power, knowledge and skills to know, adapt, restore and manage my well-being without quick fix concepts but focusing on slow, long-term future forward well-being.

Raising a girl has provided the final insight into how women unfold over time and how she either depletes or enhances her vitality. With the help of my science focused daughter assisting me to understand the scientific methods behind my Yuan Qi Qigong movement, training is now doable in shorter bursts of slow meticulous attention to detail. Every cycle. Every pregnancy. Every birth, sleepless night, career sacrifice, family burden, and quiet loss. Women don’t just endure pain—they transmute it.

Ancient Buddhist teachings speak of women’s suffering not as a burden, but as a crucible: through the fires of *dukkha*, patience becomes compassion, and sacrifice becomes wisdom. The Daoist sages knew that sorrow and joy are not opposites, but dance partners—two currents in the same river, each giving depth to the other. When pain is met with presence, it becomes the soil where peace takes root.

To every mother carrying unseen weight: your resilience is sacred. You are the lotus that blooms from the mud, the willow that bends in the storm but never breaks. Your pain is not proof of weakness. It is evidence of your power.

Keep going. Keep loving. Keep rising.

🕊️ Tag a mother who moves mountains quietly.
📌 Save this for the days you need to remember your strength.

Calm isn’t found. It’s built. 🌊

We’re all chasing peace in the daily chaos—but most “quick fixes” fade fast. Real calm adapts. It evolves. Like the ocean, it moves with your life, not against it.

Your mind and body were designed to work as one. We just forgot how to listen.

This isn’t another routine. It’s a whole-system approach to nervous system regulation, sustainable energy, and lasting clarity.

👇 Drop a 🌊 if you’re ready to stop surviving the chaos and start flowing with it. *(Save this for when you need a reset.)*

Hey, can I tell you something real? Most people think Kung Fu is about fighting. But the truth? Its deepest power is preservation.

When you train Qigong and Tai Chi, you're not just moving your body — you're speaking directly to your internal universe. That shift from external force to internal flow? That's where movement becomes medicine. It eases what you're feeling, calms your nervous system, and helps you return to your natural rhythm — without forcing anything.

This is the part no one talks about. And it's exactly where women's wellness finally makes sense.

In Balance-HER.com, I blend these internal practices with ancestral wisdom from right here, the Southern tip of Africa. No shame. No "fixing." Just you, returning to your cycle, your strength, your softness. The full guide drops worldwide on Amazon soon. 🌿

So tell me — what's your body asking you to slow down for right now? I'm listening. 👇

We train posture. We track breath. But we consistently overlook the most accessible healing tool we already carry: our hands.

In Qigong and Tai Chi, your palms aren’t just tracing forms—they’re direct regulators of your nervous system. For women, conscious hand placement, gentle meridian contact, and intentional palm-to-body awareness naturally downregulate stress, support hormonal transitions, and restore your natural cyclic rhythms.

This is why hand-centered regulation is woven into BalanceHER, and a dedicated practice in my upcoming second book.

Watch. Feel. Practice. Your hands already know how to guide you back to balance—you just need the right map.

The full guide releases worldwide on Amazon soon.
