Royal Kalahari Salt

Royal Kalahari Salt Royal Kalahari Salt is harvested from an ancient underground salt lake in the heart of the Kalahari

About 280 million years ago, underground streams were formed under the Kalahari Basin and where they met, underground lakes formed. The running water washed salt crystals from rock formations and the underwater lakes became salt lakes. For centuries, the salt water from these lakes have been drying in the Kalahari Desert sun. The Royal Kalahari Gourmet Salt range is the result of these age old sal

t pans and the unspoiled and unpolluted area where they are harvested from. Our salt is pure, naturally white crystal and free from additives and preservatives.

Thinking about making your own biltong this winter?

There’s nothing quite like homemade biltong, carefully seasoned, patiently prepared and made to share.

The Browns’ traditional biltong recipe keeps it simple:
Royal Kalahari Coarse Salt
Black pepper
Coriander
Brown vinegar

Layer the meat, season generously and allow time to do the rest. The result?
Proper South African biltong made with real flavour.
