Purpose anchors direction. Vision sets ambition. Values shape culture.

Values shape how employees feel on a Sunday evening, how clients experience your service, and whether partners trust you.

Before you ask, “What must we do?”, ask, “Who are we becoming?”

This week’s focus is on strategy - a journey, not an event.

Strategy is not a workshop — It’s a cycle

Many organisations treat strategy as an annual event. A two-day session. A flipchart. A PowerPoint deck. Then back to business as usual.

But real strategy is not an event — it’s a cycle.

Over the past few years, we’ve been walking a multi-year strategy journey with a client. One insight keeps repeating itself:

Sustainable success comes from closing the loop.

The strategic cycle looks like this:
1. Think – Mission, purpose, vision, values
2. Plan – Strategic pillars and priorities
3. Act – Clear actions aligned to priorities
4. Measure – KPIs and impact
5. Reflect & Adjust – Re-strategise where needed

Then repeat.

Many organisations:
- Rush to action without deep thinking.
- Think deeply but never implement.
- Implement but never measure impact.

The organisations that thrive are the ones that:
- Think clearly.
- Act decisively.
- Measure honestly.
- Adjust continuously.
