The latest version of the African Bat Database is now live! 🦇🌍 The African Bat Database Version 2.0 has been published by Prof. Ara Monadjem, Postdoctoral Research Fellow Cecilia Montauban, and collaborators, providing an updated open-access, curated resource of verified bat occurrence records from across the African continent. This version includes 18,409 records representing 312 bat species across 51 countries.
Alongside the new release, the team has launched the Africa Bat Database Explorer, an interactive tool that allows users to explore species distributions, map occurrence locations, and inspect individual records.
