Yesterday, I had the privilege of being invited to a graduation lunch by one of my former students. As I stood there celebrating his achievement, I couldn’t help but reflect on how beautiful it is to witness the journey of someone you once taught.
As educators, we may sometimes wonder whether the lessons we teach truly make a difference. But moments like this remind me that we are not only teaching students, we are planting seeds for the future.
Seeing my former student graduate is a reminder that success is not only about where you start but about how far you are willing to go. Your background may shape your beginning, but it does not have to determine your destination.
To my former student: Congratulations! 🎓
Your achievement makes me proud, not only because you graduated but because I know there was a journey behind that graduation, hard work, sacrifice, perseverance and determination.
May you continue to inspire others and may you never forget how far you have come.
Sometimes the greatest reward of being a teacher is watching your students outgrow the classroom and become the people you always hoped they would become.
