Rapid 3D

Rapid 3D Professional & Industrial 3D Printing Equipment Supplier and Consultants. Carefully sorting the hype from the real-world. Join us as we embrace the future.

Professional, Production & Industrial 3D Printing technology supplier and consultants. 3D Printing & Scanning Bureau services. Official agents for EOS eManufacturing, EnvisionTEC, Markforged, 3D Platform, MCor and Zortrax in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Having lived with the real and unfulfilled promised of 3D printing these last 12+ years, we are constantly looking to the developments in

3D printing. It’s from this basis that we engage our clients in paid consultation,, helping them see and understand the developments over the horizon. Developments that will force them to reconsider their existing business models or join the dinosaurs as they face irrelevance and ultimately, extinction. Industry 4.0, a term that encompasses a range of technologies, is real. A revolution is taking place right under our noses. A revolution that will disrupt strong, established businesses if they do not embrace those technologies and gain an understanding of how to deploy those technologies in their industries.

3D printing is one of those technologies. Our future.

Monday blues? Kick start your week with Simulation from Markforged.

“We can now test it with Simulation, iterate and keep iterating until we get a design we're happy with. We don't have to print ten different parts. We can do it all in Simulation." — Brian Tocci, Director of Operations, Larsen Motorsports

→ Simulation instills confidence that your 3D printed parts will have the strength required for industrial applications.
→ Simulation allows you to deliver trusted parts faster by reducing design-print-test iteration cycles.
→ Simulation reduces the cost of 3D printed parts by optimizing the amounts of material and continuous fiber reinforcement needed.

Components produced for the aerospace industry must satisfy strict quality assurance criteria. Especially in series production environments, there are high standards for component quality and hence process stability and reproducibility.

End-to-end quality assurance is therefore crucial throughout the entire production chain.

Just a few years ago, there were no well-established testing procedures for additive manufacturing, which is why non-destructive and downstream processes such as dye penetrant testing, X-rays, and computer tomography (CT) were used for metal components. Although these conventional testing methods are an effective way to certify components in some cases, they are highly expensive and often insufficient.

Quality assurance can cost many times more than production, or is there a way to qualify parts cost effectively?

MTU Aero Engines now aims to establish EOSTATE ExposureOT as a testing procedure for additively manufactured components and thereby significantly reduce the costs associated with quality assurance.Rapid 3D are the authorised partners for EOS Optical Systems in South Africa and sub-saharan Africa.
