SUCCESS STORY – DRIVER TRACED AFTER DISAPPEARING WITH TRUCK COMBINATION

One Stone Security Investigation Success

On Thursday, 18 June 2026, One Stone Security was appointed by a transport company to assist in tracing a truck driver who had gone missing from the Grootvlei Truck Stop together with a truck, trailers, and loaded cargo.

Following the report, our investigation team immediately commenced with an extensive tracing operation. Numerous leads were followed and several hours were spent gathering information, conducting interviews, and verifying intelligence received from various sources.

After a determined investigation spanning several days, One Stone Security successfully traced the missing driver on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, at a lodge in the south of Johannesburg.

Upon locating the individual, investigators found him seated outside in the sun, conversing with a member of the lodge staff. According to information gathered during the operation, the driver had made no contact with his employer from the date of his disappearance and appeared surprised when investigators located him.

The driver was subsequently detained and transported to Grootvlei SAPS for further investigation.

After being located, the driver claimed that he had been drugged and held hostage. However, investigators did not identify any person allegedly guarding him, nor was he found confined to a room at the time he was traced. These claims form part of the ongoing investigation and will be evaluated by the relevant authorities.

The whereabouts of the missing truck combination and cargo remain under investigation. It is alleged that the driver may have been involved in orchestrating the disappearance of the vehicle combination; however, this has not been proven and remains a matter for police investigation. The driver has also claimed to be a victim of a hijacking, and all aspects of the matter are currently being investigated.

This morning's incident highlighted the importance of vigilance, quick thinking, and teamwork.

One of our One Stone Security members noticed thick black smoke rising from a residential area while on duty. Recognising that something was wrong, he immediately proceeded to investigate the source of the smoke.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that a storeroom had been deliberately set alight by a suspect who subsequently fled the scene.

Without hesitation, our member responded and worked tirelessly to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring homes and causing further destruction. For approximately 30 minutes, he battled the blaze and kept it under control until the Fire Brigade arrived and took over firefighting operations.

Thanks to the rapid response and dedication of those involved, a potentially devastating community disaster was prevented. While the property owner unfortunately suffered material losses as a result of the fire, we are extremely grateful to report that no injuries were sustained and no surrounding homes were damaged.

We would also like to acknowledge the efforts of the other security service providers, who acted swiftly to locate and arrest the suspect after he fled the scene.

This incident serves as a reminder that vigilance saves lives and that strong cooperation between security providers, emergency services, and law enforcement can make all the difference.
