Sowing seeds in young minds to create a sustainable future.

Bridgehouse School visited us and took on the eco‑challenge. They divided into four groups, each with a mystery box filled with clean waste. Along with glue, scissors, and a timer. The challenge? Create one of three things: an eco‑friendly garden bird feeder, an upcycled garden wind chime, or a spring bouquet.

What they came up with was honestly inspiring. Some of the students were sharp enough to use the box as part of their creations, turning even the box into something useful. Seeing what young minds can do with what others throw away is a reminder that waste is not the end. It is just the beginning.

Thank you to Bridgehouse School for visiting us and for showing us that creativity and sustainability go hand in hand.

Virginian Stocks growing at home. This is one of the flowers in our flower mix, but did you know you can also order paper with just this seed?

Virginian Stocks are one of the easiest flowers to grow. They germinate quickly and flower within four to six weeks. They grow to about 15 to 30 cm tall and produce masses of small, fragrant blooms in shades of pink, purple, and white.

They are also known as the French Forget-Me-Not. Their delicate, cross‑shaped flowers were once associated with the Virgin Mary in religious art and were often planted in monastery gardens. Their scientific name, Malcolmia maritima, points to their Mediterranean coastal origins.

A beautiful, fragrant flower with a rich history, and you can grow it in your own garden.
