Univa Appliances Quality & Affordable Cooking, Laundry, Refrigeration, Chest Freezers & Small Home Appliances. Now, however, we only manufacture the Univa brand.

At Univa we produce our own brand of high-quality cooking products and are currently expanding our range substantially. Univa was started in Germany and was then launched in South Africa in 1945. Known at that time as Union Metal Works, the company manufactured coal stoves, double hot plate cookers and electric ovens. We changed our company name to Univa In 1958, establishing our own foundry to su

pply the cast iron for its products. During our 71 years of operation in South Africa we’ve established an excellent track record and earned the reputation of consistently providing good quality, value for money and affordability in the major domestic appliance market. Until the end of 2015 we produced quality cooking products under licence to several well-known brands. Our significantly extended product range includes new designs specifically for the African market – at extremely competitive prices. Our holding company, SVA, has invested substantially in new manufacturing equipment and machinery to further improve our production facilities as well as our capacity. Our strategy is to add value to our products to ensure they become the preferred choice in cooking products and to expand the Univa brand. Our products are available at retail outlets across Southern Africa, complemented by a high-quality range of imported cooker hoods. All Univa products come with a two year guarantee and peace-of-mind after-sales infrastructure. Spares are guaranteed to be available for at least ten years following purchase. The company is also committed to the spirit of the Consumer Protection Act No.68 of 2008. We currently employ more than 700 people in South Africa. We are part of the INESA Holding Group, an international company based in China that employs 20 000 people worldwide. We are based in Gauteng. The Univa head office is situated in Midrand with factory facilities in Ga-Rankuwa, North West province. The new Univa product range consists of the following:

Gas stoves (500 mm and 600 mm)
Electrical compact stoves (500 mm)
Electrical stoves (600 mm) in Solid and ceran cooking surface. Built-in ovens and matching hobs in black, stainless steel and ceran. Cooker hoods in black, stainless steel and chimney.
