To support wine grape growers in addressing one of the industry's challenges, the South Africa Wine Research, Development and Innovation department funded a frost management case study undertaken by the Vinpro Advancement of Viticulture Collective (Advico) team. Through practical research and field observations, the study investigated the causes of frost, prevention methods, and management practices that can help protect vineyards.

Frost can have a devastating impact on vineyards, affecting both vine development and future yields. As frost events have become increasingly common in recent years, understanding and implementing effective frost management strategies is more important than ever. This video shares key findings and practical insights to help growers better prepare for and respond to frost events.
