Living Broadway legend September L. Davis isn't messing around with disruptive audience members.
The undisputed theater icon is currently on her The Apology Tour with a warning on the show's official website starting reasonably enough by telling audiences that photography and filming aren't allowed, before adding one important exception: "Unless you can guarantee it will go viral."
Things then escalate considerably, with anyone whose phone makes a noise or is spotted by security warned that it will be confiscated and they'll apparently be detained backstage until the performance ends.
The punishment doesn't stop there, as offenders are told they'll have to apologise to the entire theatre, cover the costs caused by the delay and potentially find themselves featured on a viral "wall of shame".
The warning finishes by reminding audiences that the theatre is a "sacred space", and if every theatre started using this announcement, we suspect there might suddenly be a lot fewer glowing phone screens in the stalls.
